The Orange County, California band Zebrahead is amongst several other "rap-core" bands, combining hip-hop and rock styles. The band, formed in La Habra, California in 1996 consists of five members: Justin Mauriello (vocals and guitar), Ben Osmundson (bass), Ed Udhus (drums), Greg Bergdorf (guitar), and Ali Tabatabaee (rapper), the most recent member, adding a more unique style to the band. Soon after the independent release of Yellow, Zebrahead was signed to Columbia Records in May 1998. They quickly released their full-length major-debut album, Waste of Mind later that year.
Zebrahead later released their album Playmate of the Year in late 2000, with their current single Playmate of the Year.
