Captain Sir Edward Pellew
Sir Edward Pellew is captain of the Indefatigable. He seems a stern and harsh man who emotionally keeps his distance from his officers. He's actually a kind man who cares a lot for his officers and the men on his ship. He his Hornblower's mentor and is very proud of him, even though he usually has to throw a snide remark in with his praise.
