Le Marquis de Moncoutant
The Marquis de Moncoutant is the lord of the French village Muzillac. He fled to England at the beginning of the Revolution and plans with the help of General Charette to return home and overthrow the Republican Government. He returns to the village and is greeted by happily republican villagers. Furious, he brings out his guillotine and begins to execute peasants before they rise against him and he is guillotined.
