Author's Note: I wrote this poem about 3 months ago. It was too personal for me at the time to post it so I appearantly didn't. Now situations are different and my little ray of light is still with me. I hope I'm not jinxing myself. ;P Enjoy, I really like this poem.
Sunkissed

A splash of light
Played upon my lips
I closed my eyes
And let myself go
I felt such warmth
It softened my skin
Open and vulnerable
I lay in the sun
Long amber tendrils
Played with my hair
I smelled for the first time
Life’s sweet essence
Its embrace held me
Whispered in my ear
Sweet nothings
Of nevermore
Through out me
I could feel myself become whole
And I still felt it
When it flitted off
I opened my eyes
Reaching out above
But the little ray of light
Had passed
And so I sat
What could I do?
Just jaded
And sunkissed
