Before Waking
Before Waking

A sweet melody of music
Follows her into velvety sleep.
Rain sways to the rhythm
Of a piano's soft notes.
She is innocent in this sleep.
Everything she did wrong
Is forgotten now.

She slides into a dream world,
A world like no other.
This is her soul weaving
Her darkest desires.
Her mind is at work,
Forming all the thoughts
That never come in waking life.

And now, in this world of hers,
His eyes appear to her,
Sharp and rich in life,
Soft and full of attraction.
She knows he is there,
Silently waiting for her,
Just like the night before.

Dark in disposition
Was all she saw now,
Besides the alluring eyes.
She longs for him to become real,
And not forever remain her dream angel.
Sleep now and live the moment,
He will be gone once morning dawns.
