Weaponry

As a resident of a planet that is around 90% imbecile populated I have an interest in weaponry, namely firearms. I don't condone murder as such but there are some people who just damn well deserve a couple of slugs between the eyes (or in the groin). I don't own any firearms myself as it is illegal for anyone in this country to own pistols and it is too much trouble to get a rifle licence. I own three BB (ball-bearing) pistols, these are replicas of the original weapons and fire small plastic pellets at high velocity:

• The Heckler and Koch .40 caliber USP (HK .40 USP). Used by SWAT teams the world over, manufactured by the same company that made the Heckler and Koch Machine Pistol 5000 (HK MP5-5k) which is used in almost all national police forces and features in the best film of all time, The Matrix.It was also used in the quite excellent Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear Counter terrorism game.

  

• The Glock 17. Used by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, featuring in the X-files regularly, taking a starring role in both the film "U.S. Marshalls" and the computer game "Half-life". It is more widespread than the HK or the SIG. It was also used by Clarise in the recent sequel to "The Silence of the Lambs", "Hannibal" which is also a very entertaining film. Doctor Hannibal Lecter is one of my role models, along with Alexander Delage from "A Clockwork Orange"

  

• The SIG Sauer P228. This weapon was used by Neo in the Matrix in the scene where he fought Agent Smith for the first time (AS="You're empty." NEO="So are you."). I am not at all familiar with this weapon but fortunately Kieran has provided me with some information which far surpasses my needs (thanks man). The SIG is used in several law enforcement and military roles throughout the world. It is also known as the Army M-11 Compact Combat Handgun. It has a unique design that allows the hamer to be safely lowered while the round is in the chamber and this eliminates the need for an external safety catch. It was introduced in 1989 and is still in production and worldwide use.

  The Colt Government Centimeter Master mark 4. I know nothing about this weapon at present, however I do know that my BB replica was made by idiots, as the spelling of "Government" has been mangled into "Goverement". So there you go.

  I don't own this gun but still it is worthy of a mention as one of the best firearms in the world.

  

  This beast is the Desert Eagle, this model is gold plated but I feel it illustrates the main features of the weapon well. The Desert Eagle was used by the Agents in "The Matrix", by Duke Nukem in a few of the Duke Nukem games and by Loki in the film "Dogma". This is also an excellent film. The reason that the desert eagle is such a good gun is that it fires a round that is a solid slug of metal one half inch thick, that is around 1.5cm. This bullet is essentially a brick, larger than the .44 caliber round used by the .44 magnum in "Dirty Harry". It holds seven bullets, which means that if Harry had been carrying one the famous line would not have worked but he would have had another bullet with which to cap off some more baddies. Nice...
