Victims of Hunger
Victims of Hunger formed in late 2004 bringing together Ian C (Wulf), Isaac J and Derek S (Durk), hailing from North Troy. VOH has quickly produced a prolific library of original material based. The band's hard hitting emotional lyrics derived from teenage angst and political stances leave listeners dying for more. Musically the band comes from strong backgrounds musically with influences from hardcore bands like Black Flag, Agnostic Front, The Descendents and early Suicidal Tendencies. With Ian on lead vocals, Isaac on drums, who himself comes from a very musical family, can pretty much pick up any instrument and make it sing to any musical style. Derek who started as a guitarist only about a year ago was persuaded to switch to bass is strong and driven. With a lust for Nirvana and Kurt Cobain and the Misfits, Derek provides a bass that makes your brain bounce in you skull. Recently Chris S (TRP) joined that band as a guitarist has put forth the harmony and lead in balance that leaves a hardcore pit mongrel battered and bruised, begging for more
VOH recently completed recording their first CD, Poverty, done at SOS Records in Albany , NY , and will soon be self releases. The CD contains 6 songs and after listening to this thing it was definitely what hardcore is all about. Driving all their in influences into 6 of the hardest, meanest songs, which range from the anthem melodic “Skinhead Stomp” to “Idol” that makes you want to raise the Doc Martins and throw your fist in the air. “Lies” and the title song “Poverty” will have any pit in a whirlwind.
