Kai woke to find his wife, Miya, still sleeping. *Still beautiful after all these years,* Kai chuckled to himself. Miya stirred at his comment. She opened her eyes to find her husband smiling at her. *What? Was I drooling or something?* Miya asked cautiously. *Heh heh no silly! I was just admiring your beauty.* Kai said cheerfully. *Beauty? I’m 34 years old, a mother and wife! I probably look as ugly as Jack’s cows!* *You look just as beautiful the day I met you.* Miya blushed at his comment. They kissed and were still kissing when their son, Kai, walked in. *Ok! Next time you two are kissin’, close the door! How embarrising and gross!* They bothed laughed at their son’s comment when a girl walked out of his room. *KAAAAIIIIII! WHAT IS A GIRL DOING IN YOUR ROOM THIS MORNING?* his father yelled. *Woah, dad! It’s just Eve!* Eve was Jack & Karen’s daughter. She and Kai Jr. were cousins. *Oh sorry Eve! I thought you were probably Mint or Annelle.* *No prob’ Uncle K!* *Oh that girl! She’s the perfect mix of Jack and Karen.* Said Miya. *Yeah! The looks and sass of her mother and the honesty and reliability of her father.*
Kai Jr., Eve, Mint, Annelle, Cat, Edge, Red, James (Eve’s brother), Randy & Brittany were all hanging out at the beach and talking about the Goddess Festival. *I think I’ll have the best dress!* Mint said. Mint was Popuri & Gray’s daughter and Red’s sister. She looked just like her mother. *No I will! My mom was voted Goddess at the festival when she was 17!* stated Brittany. Brittany and Annelle where Ann & Cliff’s twins. Edge was their older brother. They looked just like their mother. *Well, I don’t care who wins as long as I’m King!* Randy stated. Randy was Rick & Mary’s son. *Kai will probably be voted King because he looks like one.* Said Mint blushing. *Ya know, I probably will! Thanks babe! You stay beautiful.* Kai said playfully. Mint blushed like crazy. *You’re just saying that because you have a HUGE crush on him!* yelled Randy. Mint got up and slapped him, *Randy! I can’t belive you!* She ran away crying. *I better go check on her.* Said Cat, who was Mint’s sister. *Cat! I better go check on her.* Said Kai
Kai knew where she’d be. He went to the Hot Spring & there she was. But the catch is, she was getting ready to get in. ~Ah! Old dad’s teachings have brought me this far~ Kai thought to himself. *Yo Mint.* Mint was startled to hear him! Him of all people! *Kai! You’re watching me undress!* *Yeah! I know….* *So what are you gonna do about it?* *I feel like getting in myself.* Mint blushed uncontrollably. She knew if James saw this, he’d go into overprotective-boyfriend mode. But she instead answered, *Sure come on in. Well what are you waiting for?* Kai undressed then got in after she did. *Wow this really IS a hot spring!* Kai said. Mint was becoming overwhelmed with emotions. She knew she shouldn’t be here, especially with Kai. So she hurried out and dressed. *Hey! Where are you going?* Kai asked suspiciously. *Back to James! I shouldn’t be here!* Kai jumped out and dressed quickly. He knew Mint was gonna blab everything to James! He had to catch up with her. He finally caught her and asked, *Why did you leave? Your not gonna tell James are you?* *Of course not! I’d be too ashamed of myself for provoking you to get in!* *Oh…I screwed up, huh?* *Yes! Yes you did!* *Hey I almost forgot, does Cat have an escourt to the Goddess Festival?* *No why? You like her don’t you?* Suddenly, Kai blushed. Mint had NEVER seen him blush before. *You really like her, don’t you!* Kai managed a nod. *Don’t worry,* Mint smiled, *I’ll hook you two up!* *Oh thank you Mint! Thank you!* Kai said as he hugged her. *Kai…I…can’t…breathe….* *Oh! Sorry Mint!*
Just then, a girl they had never seen before walked up. She had black hair to her shoulders and had green eyes. She was wearing a white sleeveless shirt and a pair of green short shorts. “Hi! I’m Dia! My father built a villa up the mountain! You must be Mint and…Kai, right?* She asked curiously. Kai thought she was like a real goddess. *Well, I’ll leave you two alone, I guess you won’t want me to talk to my sister than.* Said Mint. Kai couldn’t respond. Mint walked off shaking her head. He just stared at Dia like an idiot then said, *Oh sorry I-I was just stunned by your beauty.* Kai said. Dia blushed then said, *Well I hate to interupt you and your girlfriend.* *Ha ha ha! She’s not my girlfriend! I don’t have a girlfriend.* *Oh! Well ya wanna take a dip in the hot spring?* Kai couldn’t belive this girl was hitting on HIM! Didn’t she know whom she was talking to? *I believe you may know my name, but not my rep.* He said said seductivly. *I believe I don’t. What’s your rep around here?* *Ladies man, like my dad. That is, until he met a girl who turned him around.* *Kinda like what’s happening here?* *Uhh ya haven’t turned me around yet! Ya wanna meet my parents?* *Only if you meet mine!* *Sure!*
They ran to Dia’s house and met her parent’s first. Then when they got to Kai’s house, he opened the door & yelled, *Mom! Dad! Come on down! Meet Dia!* *Huh? Is this like, your girlfriend orsomething?* asked his father. *N-* he was cut off by Dia. *Of course I am! Pleasure to meet you mister…?* *Yamuska.* *Mr. Yamuska! An honor to meet you! My father built the villa near the mountain summit. We live there now.* *OH! That Dia! I see now! Nice to meet you!* *Yes, nice to meet you, dear!* Said Kai’s mom. After they left, Kai asked, *Why did you tell them that? Now they think I got a girlfriend!* *Oh! Where ARE my manners! Kai, would you like to go out with me?* *If you mean go on a date, sure. If you mean be your boyfriend, sure.* *Really! Oh thanks Kai!* She inched closer and pecked him on the cheek. *Bye! I better go! Later Kai!* *Later!* Some how, Dia kissing him felt so right. He didn’t know why. It just did.
The next morning, Kai walked up to Dia’s house to ask her to the Goddess Festival. Then he realized he didn’t know ANYTHING about Dia! He only knew her name and where she lived! He HAD to find out about her. He knocked on Dia’s door & she answered it. *Oh hey! Umm what’s up?* *Hey, ya know about the Goddess Festival, right?* *Of course! Do you have a date?* *I actually came to ask you.* *Of course I’ll go with you! I AM your girlfriend! So pick me up at 9:00 ok?* *WAIT! I wanna ask you some questions about yourself.* *Okay! Let’s go!* As they walked up the mountain, Kai got to ask questions. He found out she was 15, like him, loved animals and flowers, liked to read, loved cooking and loved dancing and singing. It was kinda weird she had all the qualites like the mothers in town. Oh well. *So…do you think Edge likes me? I mean, I said *Hi!* to him and he blushed and said *My name is E-Edge. Your really pretty.* Then I said *Thank you! My name is Dia!* and he goes *Well I really hope to see you again* and stared blushing as I left.* *HE DID THAT! I’LL GET HIM FOR THAT!* *Kai calm down! I’m sure he like’s his girlfriend…* *He doesn’t have one. That’s probably why he hit on you.* *Well I like you so don’t worry!* She gave him a reassuring smile and they inched closer and kissed a passionet kiss. *Well see you at the festival. They’re holding a new addition this year where the Goddess dances with the king. So I hope we get to dance together.* *Me too!* *Well bye.* He said as he kissed her cheek. Dia blushed and said, *Good-bye!*
The day of the festival, Kai walked Dia to the square and the voting for King and Goddess began. *Okay everyone! The results are in!* shouted the Mayor. *The King is…Edge!* Everyone cheered as Edge walked up to the Mayor and stood to his left. *And now…the moment you’ve all been waiting for…the Goddess is…Dia!* Edge blushed as Dia walked up and stood to the Mayor’s right. *The King and Goddess will now share the first dance. Everyone choose your dance partners!* Kai was forced to dance with Cat while he watched Dia dance with Edge. Dia and Edge talked while they danced. *Wow! Who knew you and I would be dancing together?* Dia asked. *Well…I voted for you. I was happy when you won. I really like you. Do you want to go to the beach tomorrow or something like that?* *Umm…sure. I’d love to!* Dia didn’t to break his heart. She knew she’d have to let Kai know. *Well I suppose you wanna dance with Kai during the next song.* *Wait, you knew we where going out?* *Yeah. But I still like you. So can I dance with you later?* *Sure! I think I’m starting to like you, too.* Dia said as she blushed. Edge was every bit like his father. So it was only natural he look so cute. As the song ended, Edge kissed her hand and said, *Till we meet again my fair lady.* Dia blushed and said, *And I you my good sir.* Kai came up and said, *Hey babe, wanna dance?* *I’d love to!* *Come on.* *Bye Edge,* Dia said sadly as Kai led her away. *Good-bye Dia…* said Edge sadly.
The next day, Edge woke up to a cold with Dia standing over him. *Your mom told me that you were running a fever as you were sleeping. I came to visit!* *Uhhh…what time is it?* *It’s noon! I came over half an hour ago!* *Looks like we gotta postpone our date till I get better.* *Yeah but I’ll stay here with you till 1:30. I told Kai we could take a nature walk in the woods since you were sick. But I’ll come back around 5:00 because I was gonna make you dinner in bed since you slept through breakfast andlunch!* Edge blushed and said, *Thanks. I appriciate it. So what do you want to talk about?* They talked till 1:20. *Oh my gosh! I gotta go meet Kai! Bye Edge!* Dia said as she pecked him on the cheek and hurried out the door. Edge blushed and waved good-bye. *Your little girlfriend is so sweet, Edge!* Ann, his mother said. *She’s not my girlfriend yet! I like her, and I think she likes me, but she’s going out with Kai.* *Well maybe she’ll breakup with him, or he’ll breakup with her.* *If he does, I’ll kill him! He’s gonna break her heart!* *Well maybe she likes you more.* *Hmm…maybe your right, Mom! If he does, I’ll go out with her. I just gotta make sure he is. I know! I’ll ask Eve! They’re cousins! She’ll know out of anybody!* So the next day, Edge hurried to Jack’s farm and knocked on the door. *Oh hey Edge! Do you need to see Eve?* Karen asked. *Yes ma’am. Is she here?* *Why of course she is! Come on in!* ~Such a well-mannered boy.~ Karen thought to herself. *Hiyaa Edge! What’s up?* *Can I talk to you for a minute…alone?* *Sure, what’s up?* Edge told Eve everything & she told him, *Ya know…Kai WAS thinking about breaking up with her. He said she was cheating on him with YOU!* *She’s not! She wouldn’t do that!* *Well you ARE my cousin, too, so I’ll belive you.* *Thanks Eve! Later!* *Later lover-boy!* Eve chuckled.
Kai and Dia were walking when Kai says, *Dia, are you cheating on me with Edge?* *No! Why would I cheat on you?* *Well you HAVE been spending a lot of time with him and Brittany told me you kissed him on the cheek!* *I did that cause he was sick! I wanted to make him feel better!* *Oh yeah! Then why don’t you just go out with him!* *A-Are y-you breaking up with m-me?* *Yes, I am! I’m gonna start dating Cat now. I always DID like her.* Dia burst into tears and ran all the way to the villa and locked herself in her room. Edge caught wind of the situation when he saw Kai and Cat kissing near the hot spring. *KAAAAAI! I’LL KILL YOU!* Edge screamed as Kai looked over. *Well, he didn’t like her anyway! He likes ME now! So leave us alone! Plus, she was just a prissy little brat anyway! He only liked her for the money!* Cat said as Edge walked over. *Dia is the nicest, most caring, beautiful person I’ve ever met! She always deserved someone WAY better than Kai, who’s just a player. If he break’s your heart, tell your brother. Red’ll teach him. So will James. And me, for Dia’s revenge.* Cat thought about what he said then went right back to kissing Kai.
Edge went to the villa and Dia’s maid, Martha, answered the door. *Oh Miss Dia isn’t taking any visitors at the moment.* *Can you please tell her its Edge, ma’am.* *Sure!* Martha hurried up the stairs and came back down a few minutes later. *Miss Dia said she’d be happy to see you right now. Follow me this way.* Edge followed the short, plump woman up the stairs to a set of tall and wide doors. *Miss Dia, Mr. Edge is here to see you.* The doors swung open quickly and Dia stood there teary-eyed. *Please come in, Edge.* She pulled him inside and dismissed Martha. *Oh Edge,* Dia said falling into his arms, *Kai hates me! I knew he’d do this some day! Oh why couldn’t I have gone out with someone likeyou…* *Well, do you want to?* *Yes! I’d love to!* *Well let’s start going out then. How about our date to the beach?* *I’d love to! How about during sunset! That’s my favorite time of day. Kai doesn’t even know that!* *Great! I’ll meet you there!* When they met each other, Dia was wearing an emerald green tankini with her toenails painted the same color. Edge wore ocean blue trunks. They walked hand-in-hand down the beach and Edge threw Dia in the water and jumped in after her. They swam around till sunset came. Then they sat on an extra towel Edge brought. They gazed into each other’s eyes and inched closer and kissed in the sunset.
