		Czechoslovak forces in the Near East were organized 
		into the 11th Infantry Battalion on 1 November 1940 
		in Palestine. After garrisoning Egypt, the battalion 
		moved to the Western Desert with British 23rd 
		Infantry Brigade (with which it served from 30 
		May 1941 to 6 October 1941) on 31 May 1941 but 
		was held in reserve near Matruh during Operation 
		Battleaxe. The Czechs and Slovaks then moved to the 
		Levant with 23rd Brigade to participate in 
		Operation Exporter, following which they remained 
		on duty in Syria until October. 
		On 20 October the battalion was shipped into 
		Tobruk where it served for the remainder of the 
		siege under the Polish Carpathian Brigade. It 
		stayed in the Tobruk area until 7 April 
		1942 when it departed for Palestine for 
		(conversion to 200th Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment
		in May. Its troops eventually served with 
		Czechoslovak 1st Armored Brigade in France. The 
		11th Battalion is not tracked in this OB.)

		[After one year in Palestine 42-43, Mr E.B. Toman, 
  went to Persia. 
		Where he was a translator, and go between with Allied-Forces. 
		To help in the arms supplies to the 
		Russian Front till the end of the WAR.]
		[In the 40ties he was in the British Home-Guard, KENYA
		the Mau-Mau Revolt Problem.
		In the late 50ties left Kenya.]
