Chapter Three

"There! There they are! Hurry, Brethren, hurry!"

It was a soldier not far outside the tent. They couldn't quite see him because it had been late at night and they had a fire going. They were in shock that some form of law had actually found them. Vladimir began to panic. The soldier began to quickly move in. That they could see. All of a sudden, he seemed to slow down. Then, causing the group even more shock, his sides split and fell down. He had been sliced clean in half.

"Slayer... Slayer... come out, come out wherever you are..." gordon mumbled. He looked over at Seth, who had readied himself, but now sitting perfectly still.

"Dont.. move." Seth said. Suddenly, a log in the fire split. A moment later, so did the tent, making it fall to its sides.
"Oh my! Is everyone OK?!" Jill jumped up. Gordon had dissapeared. Jill looked in all directions. He was in the tree next to the demolished tent. "Shhhh...." He whispered. Vladimir was cowardly hiding behind the tree.

The slashing noise of a sword against another sword sounded loudly. Jill looked over, eyes now adjusted to the darkness, and saw a powerful man with a top hat and a mask that of a clown's face. He was in a dressy suit. He carried what seemed to be that of an enlarged blade of a pizza cutter. He held it by gripping his finger in the hole in the center of the blade. He was pushing it against Seth's sword, and apparently winning. The "Clown" began slowly spinning the blade, but the speed was quickly increasing. Seth knew this wasn't good, and jumped back, out of the way as the blade was turned and release in his direction. As it left The Clown's finger, it seemed to dissapear. Of course, because if it's invisible speed, it got to Seth quickly. Fortunately, he was protecting himself with his sword and was able to knock it back at The Clown. The Clown, however, caught it. He obviously practiced a lot with this weapon, and you could tell. It was stained with blood.

"Where's the damn Guide?!" Gordon angrily whispered towards Jill. He had been looking all over for it, but saw it nowhere. Where could they possibly go to find it? Soldiers were moving in, called by the slain knight, and a Slayer was in the center of it all, over-powering their only protection: Seth. Vladimir seemed to be having a panic attack. Gordon looked over, checking on Seth. He was still blocking throws of the blade. The Clown was quite determined. Just then, The Clown and Gordon noticed the guide. It was at The Clown's feet. He tried to pick it up, but it seemed to burn him. He picked it up and held it on his blade. He then held the blade like a waiter would hold a tray of food. The blade began to spin. This didn't look good.

Jill gasped. "What's he trying to do to the Guide?" She ran behind the tree with Vlad. She was watching The Clown until she realized the state of panic Vlad was in. He was a Victim and if he died of a heart attack, it would just take longer for the twins to see their father and be able to visit their dearest family friend, Mr. Augustus. She was hoping Mr. Augustus was improving.

Vlad was calming down a bit. Seth tried to attack The Clown, but as he did, The Clown held up the spinning blade to Seth's sword. The sword shattered. The Clown had the blade slow down. As he did, everyone was shocked to see nothing but dust on the blade. The Clown blew it off and laughed loudly. The Soldiers were moving in more quickly now, and most had already gotten there.

"WHAT HAPPENED TO THE GUIDE?!" Gordon yelled. The Soldiers saw their slain Brother and, seeing The Clown was now the only one was a weapon, they went for him. Half of them slowed down and met their Brother's fate. The Clown laughed in an insane manner yet again.

"Don't try to fight back!" The Clown had finally said something, and it wasn't very encouraging. He went in and quickly slayed the other soldiers.

"Apparently we're matched with a powerful enemy.." Seth mumbled sarcastically. Seth flipped up some small throwing stars from his belt. "I knew there was a good reason I wore samurai armor!" Seth smiled. He flicked a star at The Clown, which of course he blocked, but flicked another right after. He looked back at Gordon, who was shocked that the Guide was destroyed. "It was fake, Gordon, don't worry." Seth looked back at The Clown, who had blocked both stars. Seth called Gordon over.

"This enemy is being very patient. We're lucky we're still alive" Seth said to Gordon as he came over.
"Yeah, I think he just wants to have fun before he kills us..." Gordon looked over at The Clown, who began to spin the blade again. "That isn't good."
"Here." Seth said, handing Gordon a small dagger. "I'll distract him with the stars, then you come up and stab him. Got it?"
