In 2001, me and my friend victor decided to make a punk band. the original idea was me on guitar, victor on bass and juan on drums. Well, one day, me and vic decided to jam at his house, and since Juan had no drumset to play on, we used vic's shity remo beginners drumset that was in his garage. juan didn't really play along with what me and vic were doing, and it really pissed us off. so we looked for a new drummer, and we found kevin. I had already knew that kevin was a skilled set player, but for some reason, victor didn't think that he would get along with him, but since there were no other set players available, he agreed to have him in the band. it was kinda funny then cuz all what kevin had was his bass drum, 2 tom-toms, 2 floor toms, his brand new double bass-pedel, hi-hat, snare, and a splash, oh and the ride/crash. victor had his squire p-bass and borrowed amp, and i had my tele with my hot rod. we praticed in kevin's garage and at that time we only had two songs that were in progress, but we really wanted a second guitarist. That's when we tried out "Sterile Darrell" for the spot. darrell had an ibanez and played some riffs, but he didn't really meet our expectations. So victor found diego and wanted him to try out. diego had a strat immitation, yet, he played pretty good, so we kept him. After that, victor and i were trying to come up with a name. first we came up with "unstable behavior", but it didn't really stick around that long. then we came up with "soapcar ruccus", but right after the, box car racer came out and they copied us. then it was "illitarate" for the longest time, untill we got sick of it and came up with, "LOA", which stood for, Lack of Ambition. over a long period of time, we had about 5 songs, but no singer. first we tried out mark, but it seemed he didn't want to sing in a punk band and also, he didn't have the time. so kevin suggested we try out mario, but it turned out that we wern't too comfortable with his kind of style. then we found jay rogers. jay had came to a few of our practices and we decided to keep him, but at the same time, there were clashes between victor and kevin which brought about some tension. then, everybody got fed up with everything and our band broke up. victor, diego and jay went off to start a new band, and i stayed with kevin to make a new band aswell. so me and kevin decided to have mark to be our bass player, yes, the same mark who tried out for our singer in LOA. He tried out and made it. then, we gave ourselves a name, UPSIDEDOWN, because it was the coolest name i could think of. our band isn't complete however, we still need another guitarist, so until then, im done here. oh and this has been mike.
