Untitled Pt 2

About a week later Jay was taking an afternoon nap when his phone rang.

“Yo.”

“Hey, this is Angel.”

“Oh.” Silence. “What’s up?”

“Why are you avoiding me?” Angel demanded. “Every time I call and try to make plans with you, you just blow me off.”

“Well, to tell you the truth Angel, I kind of don’t want to hang out with you,” Jay said. “I didn’t know how to tell you nicely, but since you brought it up . . .”

“So you just wanted me for sex?” she asked.

“Uh, if you want to put it like that, yeah,” Jay replied. “I’m a jerk. You don’t want to get involved with me.”

“You’re such a bastard!” Angel slammed the phone down and screamed.

“What?” Karen asked Angel.

“Jay just informed me he doesn’t want to hang out with me. At all.” Angel picked up her purse. “I’m leaving. If anyone calls tell them I’ve dropped off the face of the earth.”

Angel left and Karen came up with a plan. She dug through the stuff on Angel’s dresser until she found a scrap of paper with Jay’s address on it.

Lisa was sitting next to Bobby in his hospital room watching Jerry Springer while Bobby ate soup. A guy on the TV threw a chair in the audience.

“Yeah!” Bobby cheered. “Ouch.”

“Don’t hurt yourself,” Lisa said. She kissed him.

“Mmmm, sexy lady,” Bobby mumbled. “You want to crawl in my bed? No one will know. We’ll just pull that privacy curtain.”

“Sorry to disappoint you, but I’m not that kinky,” Lisa replied.

“Well how about you just slide your hand underneath this blanket -”

“Hey guys!”

Lisa and Bobby looked up to see Blythe, Fabio, Danielle, and Rohan standing in the doorway.

“Danielle!” Lisa exclaimed. She hugged her. “I haven’t seen you in ages! How are you?”

“Good good,” Danielle said. “How are you guys doing?”

“Oh not so good.” Bobby groaned. “I don’t get laid till I get out.”

“I know about that one man,” Rohan commented. “Sucks to be you.”

“What do you mean you know about that one?” Danielle asked. “You get it practically whenever you want it!”

Blythe and Fabio laughed. Lisa made eye contact with Fabio and he winked at her. She grabbed Bobby’s hand.

“So do you feel pretty good, Bobby?” Fabio asked. “Comin’ home soon?”

“Hopefully,” Bobby said. “I was all excited cuz we were finally home, but now I’m not even at home.”

“We stopped by to see Paige and Khadija before we came over here. Paige feels incredibly badly,” Danielle added.

“Yeah, I got flowers and stuff from them,” Bobby replied. “It’s like, oh well. I don’t hate him or anything.”

Blythe tugged on Fabio’s sleeve. “I hate to be the naggy girlfriend, but we actually had plans for tonight.”

Fabio laughed. “Let’s go. Unlike you, I’m gettin’ some tonight,” he said to his brother.

They left together but Danielle and Rohan stayed. After awhile Lisa said, “Well Bobby, as much as I hate to go, I promised Amir and Ashley I’d let them take me out tonight. I kinda like this people feeling sorry for me thing.”

“They should feel sorry for me,” Bobby whined. “I can’t do anything.”

Lisa kissed Bobby and then whispered in his ear, “Sweetie, when you get home, I promise it’ll have been worth the wait.”

Karen, wearing a long dark jacket, knocked on Jay’s front door. He rolled his eyes when he opened the door. “Angel, what did I tell you?”

Karen pushed her way inside and opened the jacket. “Are you telling me you don’t want this bod?”

She thought Jay’s eyes would pop out of his head. “Um . . . yeah. No. I don’t know. Put some clothes on.”

Karen pouted and closed her jacket. “Jay, you’re just confused. I know you’ve been with a lot of girls, but can’t you just give me a chance?”

Jay looked away from Karen. “Maybe we can work something out. If you keep your clothes on for just a bit.”

“It’s a deal!” Karen smiled.

The next morning when Lisa woke up she felt someone’s hand on her breast. When she saw it was Fabio she screamed and jumped out of bed. Lisa ran into Tristyn’s room.

“Tristyn!” she shrieked. “How the hell did Fabio get in?”

“He was here when I got home,” Tristyn said. “I thought you let him in. You didn’t?”

“No!” Lisa yelled. “He was in my bed, touching me. TOUCHING ME, TRISTYN!”

Fabio came out of Lisa’s room. “I had Bobby’s key, Lis.”

“This is not acceptable, Fabio!” Lisa wailed. “Please just get our of our house. I don’t know what you were thinking, but I certainly never came on to you.”

Fabio left without saying anything else.

“Are you bored with our lives?” Amir asked Ashley.

“What are you talking about? We got back a week ago from your tour. Bobby is in the hospital. How much more excitement can we take?”

He shrugged. “I’m just bored.”

“Well, quit being bored,” Ashley said. “We have to get up and make breakfast. I told Tristyn and Ryan to come over this morning. And I think Jay’s coming over with that Angel girl.”

When Tristyn and Ryan arrived Ryan grabbed Amir’s arm. “Come with me, man.”

They went into the hallway and Ryan pulled something out of his pocket. “You’re in a rut man. I can tell. I’m gonna give you a little something I always keep with me, just in case.” He pressed a pair of handcuffs into Amir’s hand. “It’s all about the handcuffs. Chicks dig it.”

Amir nodded. “Uh, thanks.” He threw them on the bed and went back out to the kitchen, where Jay and Karen were standing.

“Hey man, it’s been awhile since I’ve seen you. Like, 3 days,” Amir said. “Hi, Angel.”

She smiled, but didn’t say anything. “Let me give you the ‘grand tour’,” Jay said.

When they left Ashley looked at Amir. “That’s not the same girl.”

“Of course it is,” Amir replied.

“Oh yeah,” Ryan scoffed. “Jay just walks around pulling girls that look like each other out of his back pocket. Sure Ashley.”

“It’s not,” Ashley insisted. “I’m sorry if that means that Jay is an idiot, but that’s a different girl. She didn’t even know who you were, Amir.”

“I think you’re mistaken,” Amir said. “Just wait. You’ll see that it’s her.”

Later that week, when it was time for Bobby to come home, there was a party at Lisa and Tristyn’s house. They even called Angel and left a message on her machine, inviting her to come.

The whole “gang” showed, including Fabio with Blythe, and Danielle and Rohan.

Bobby sat in a chair while Lisa fed him cake. “Lisa,” he protested. “I have one broken arm. I promise I can feed myself.”

She shook her head. “Nope.”

“Let’s put in a movie,” Blythe suggested. “How about...um...’Clerks’?”

“Wow, you people sure know how to party,” Rohan commented. “I thought you were all supposed to be party animals.”

“We don’t want to over-excited the guest of honor,” Paige replied.

Ryan burst out laughing. “Yeah, Lisa’s saving that for later.”

Paige sat with his arm around Khadija, her head on his shoulder. Blythe and Fabio sat next to each other, making no contact at all. Ryan was sitting on the floor with Tristyn’s head in his lap (*not* being dirty you guys). Amir was kissing Ashley, but he wasn’t being disgusting about it. Danielle and Rohan were holding hands, while next to them Karen was climbing all over Jay.

“You guys are being just a little bit . . .gross!” Ryan said. “I’m sorry, but I’m not in the mood to watch this today. Please go use one of the spare bedrooms and get your stuff over with so we don’t have to watch this anymore.”

Jay shrugged and drug Karen to one of the back rooms.

About 10 minutes later there was a knock on the door. Standing outside was Angel. “Hey guys, sorry I’m late. It was really nice of you to invite me!”

Silence all around. Everyone was figuring out what had happened.

“Jay is in the back room,” Bobby said. Lisa elbowed him. “What?! He is!”

Angel smiled. “Thanks.”

She left and Lisa hissed, “Bobby! That was the worst thing you could’ve said.”

“She’s gonna find out anyway,” Bobby eplied. “This way, she’ll know for sure.”

Angel stood outside the door and could hear everything going on inside, so she didn’t go in right away.

Karen was screaming. “Oh, you like that?” Jay asked. Karen laughed and screamed more.

A few seconds later Angel heard Jay sigh. “I think I love you, Angel.”

“I love you too, Jay,” Karen said.

Angel opened the door and saw Jay and Karen lying under blankets together.

Jay looked at Angel, then at Karen, then back at Angel. He didn’t say anything.”

“You are such a bitch!” Angel yelled at Karen. “You are such a slut! Why do you always do this to me?”

“Because you can’t do anything good for yourself, Angel,” Karen growled.

“Oh shit?” Jay rolled off of Karen. “You’re not Angel? Oh shit.”

Angel started to cry. She slammed the door and ran out of Lisa’s house. Jay ran after her, pulling pants on at the same time. Karen wandered out non-chalantly. “Hey guys.”

“Get out,” Tristyn said.

“So Fabio hit on you?” Bobby asked. “Why didn’t you just tell me? It sounds like things went too far.”

“He’s your brother,” Lisa said. “I don’t know. I didn’t want to turn you guys against each other.”:

“That wouldn’t have happened. I would’ve told him to stop. Is he a better kisser than me?” He looked worried.

Lisa smiled. “I never let him kiss me, Bobby.”

“Good.”

Jay and Angel came in Lisa’s front door together.

“Um, you are the real Angel, right?” Bobby asked. “I’m just checking.”

“Yes.” Angel laughed. “Jay and I talked things over.”

“So what now?” Lisa said.

“Well, actually, do you guys want to go to dinner with us?” Jay asked. “It looks as is everyone else has scattered.”

Lisa looked at Bobby. “I think we had other plans.”

“I’m kind of glad they didn’t want to come,” Jay said softly. He was sitting across from Angel in a dimly lit restaurant. “We need to talk.”

“Yeah, you’ve got me pretty confused,” Angel replied. “I think there are a few holes you need to fill in for me. You meet me, have sex with me, tell me you don’t want to see me again. Karen comes over to your house, you think she’s me, you guys sleep together, and that’s your whole relationship right there - sex. Enter me into the picture again. We both find out about Karen, then you decide you want me instead. I don’t get it.”

“I don’t either. I told you that you didn’t want to get involved with me.” He took Angel’s hand. “Ya know, I don’t know what’s happening. I’m f***ing your sister thinking it’s you, but when you walked in on us something clicked. It’s stupid but it’s like, I should be with you.”

“That doesn’t even make any sense, but here’s another question. When Karen came over, why did you all of a sudden decide you wanted her, well me?” Angel asked. “You had just told me you never wanted to see me again.”

“I’m a real macho man over the phone. When you’re there in person, I give in,” Jay answered. “It’s pretty dumb, but it’s the truth.”

Angel sighed. “Okay.”

“Okay what?”

“I don’t know.” She shrugged. “Now the question is . . . do I want you or not?”

Tristyn stood over the dresser in her bedroom folding Ryan’s socks while he snuck up behind her. “Boo!”

“Aaaaugh!” she screamed. “Ryan!”

“What are you doing?” he asked.

“Folding your socks,” Tristyn replied. “I don’t know why. You don’t even live here. Maybe you should.”

“Can I? That would be so awesome Tristy! I’d love it!” Ryan exclaimed.

“Okay.” She smiled mischievously. “You can move in. Maybe we’d better start practicing.”

She kissed him warmly.

He started to lay down on the bed.

“Oh! Not yet,” Tristyn said. “I have to close the door. Bobby and Lisa are in the living room.” She shut the door and then pounced on top of Ryan.

Ryan was removing Tristyn’s clothing when they heard a knock on the door. Tristyn made a face at Ryan while grabbing a blanket.

“What?” she opened the door swiftly.

“I just wanted to bug you, Tristyn,” Jay said. He had his arm around Angel.

“Dammit! You guys all think it’s so funny to interrupt everything!” Ryan called from inside the room.

Jay smiled sweetly. “I love you! Actually, I just wanted to share with you that I am now officially dating Angel. Like, exclusively.”

“Yeah, I’m happy for you.” Tristyn slammed the door and Jay and Angel laughed. Jay wrapped his arms around Angel. “I love you.”
