As of Dec. 20, I was in Florida, AGAIN. Me and my parents went to the Hard Rock Vault on Tuesday, Dec. 23. Totaly awesome...I knew this place was going to be great when you walk in to the self guided tour and there was a glass thing signed by bands, one being Disturbed. So yeah, AND AFI was there only a few weeks ago! So that's pretty cool. Well anyways the Vault just has a lot of different guitars and suits and other memorabilia worn by people like James Hetfield, Dave Mustaine, Prince, Boy George, The Beatles, Elvis, Van Halen and so many more. Holy crap it was awesome. I took some pictures from the self-guided portion (below). Unfortunately, I didn't think to ask the tour guide if I could take pictures of the punk section of the guided tour. Gah, that was awesome. I stood right next to Joey Ramone's bass and leather jacket. They also had the original bassist, Glen Matlock or something or other of the Sex Pistols' bass, along with the guitarist's guitar (drawing a blank on his name). Plus some stuff of The Velvet Underground, Misfits, and The Clash.
The room after that had costumes worn by Boy George, Prince, Ozzy Osbourne, and others. the next room had one of Jimmi Hendrix's beautiful guitars, and hand written lyrics, along with a suit, and some stuff from The Cars, plus more. The next room was The Beatles and the Rolling Stones, some awesome stuff in there, and then the final room was Elvis. That place is awesome. I even got to play a guitar that had 5 different pedals. Go there if you ever go to Orlando.
Everyone there was cool to me, they even found out when the date Joe Strummer died for me :( which was on my birthday in 2003 (Dec. 22). Okay well this guy played "Should I Stay or Should I Go" by The Clash for me, and now I'm practicing playing it on my own guitar. Sweet.
Me playing the guitar.

I'm also in an official AFI group that supports them and try to get them recognized. This group is called the 5th Column. Go here to find out more. We try to get them heard and do whatever we can to fulfill our online and offline missions. We helped them win the MTV2 Award at the VMA's and get them played on radio stations and music networks so they can be heard. If you're a big AFI fan, you should really look into the 5th Column.
Okay that's all you need to know.
