Unlike most equipment from the market place,
all starting equipment has no skill requirements.

Combat:
Grenades/Explosives
This skill determines your ability to throw grenades, flashbangs, and smoke bombs. It affects throwing range, speed, accuracy, and ability to time throws properly in high-pressure combat situations. When combined with the Traps/Trap Detection skill, it greatly reduces the time it takes to set up explosives as well as disarm them. Starting Equipment: Moltav Cocktail (infinite amount)

Heavy Weapons
This skill determines your ability to use heavy weapons such as heavy machine guns, missile launchers, and rocket propelled grenades. Heavy Weapons have a greater tendency to jam than Small Arms. It affects handling, accuracy, mobility, and weapon maintenance. Most weapons of this skill greatly reduce stealth capabilities. Starting Equipment: M1 Tactical w/ Sling

Martial Arts
This skill determines your ability to use various arms and limbs as well as unique weapons, in combat situations. With the melee skill and special martial arts weapons, a martial artist can easily take down one who has only the melee skill. It affects agility, awareness, anatomy, strength, muscle control and speed. When combined with Melee Weapons, it grants access to a number of special weapons. Starting Equipment: none

Melee Weapons
This skill determines your ability to use various weapons designed to cut, hack, or smash. Melee weapons leave a lot less evidence and have little or no moving parts that make noise unlike firearms. Melee Among these weapons are swords, axes, and clubs. It affects agility, awareness, strength, speed and weapon maintenance. When combined with Martial Arts, it grants access to a number of special weapons. Starting Equipment: Steel Gladius w/ Sheath

Sharpshooting
This skill determines your ability to use weapons designed for extremely long-range purposes. It affects range, accuracy, awareness, concentration, anatomy, and weapon maintenance. Starting Equipment: M1 Rifle w/ Sling

Small Arms
This skill determines your ability to use various side arms, shotguns, and standard assault rifles. It affects handling, accuracy, mobility, and weapon maintenance. Small Arms have a less tendency to jam than Heavy Weapons. Starting Equipment: 92FS 9mm w/ Holster

Traps/Trap Detection
This skill determines your ability to construct, set, and detect traps of various types. It affects concentration, awareness, mechanics, and chemistry. When combined with Grenades/Explosives, it greatly reduces the time it takes to set up explosives as well as disarm them. When combined with Perception, the chances of trap detection greatly increase. Starting Equipment: Datapad GPR Upgrade, Demolitions Kit

Covert/Sabotage:
Concealment
This skill determines your ability to conceal weapons and items by means of anti-detection equipment and clothing. It affects concentration, awareness, behavioral control, and muscle control. When combined with stealth/hiding, the chance to conceal a weapon is greatly increased. Starting equipment: None

Disguising/Camouflaging
This skill determines your ability to disguise yourself, others, and objects using makeup and natural resources. It affects concentration, awareness, psychology, anatomy, resourcefulness, muscle control and behavioral control. When combined with Speech, the chance to succeed greatly increases. When combined with Survival, the time to find resources for camouflaging is greatly reduced. Starting Equipment: Makeup kit

Electronics
This skill determines your ability to create and manipulate electronic devices. It affects precision, concentration, and electronic maintenance. When combined with the Lock Picking Skill, it greatly reduces time for electronic lock picking. When combined with Mechanics/Engineering, the time to create or repair an item is greatly reduced. Starting Equipment: Electronics Tool Kit

Lock Picking
This skill determines your ability to open all kinds of locks. It affects precision and concentration. When combined with the Electronics skill, it greatly reduces time for electronic lock picking. Starting Equipment: Lock Pick Set

Stealing
This skill determines your ability to steal items from people and places without being noticed. It affects agility, precision, concentration, muscle control and awareness. When combined with the martial arts skill, it allows you to attempt to disarm an opponent. Starting Equipment: None

Stealth/Hiding
This skill determines your ability to remain undetected when standing still or even walking. It affects agility, concentration, awareness, muscle control and cunning. When combined with Concealment, the chance to conceal a weapon is greatly increased. Starting Equipment: Pure Black Jumpsuit, Black Sound Suppressing Shoes

Knowledge:
Animal Science
This skill determines your ability to understand and communicate with animals. It affects awareness, psychology, anatomy, and behavioral control. When combined with medicine, it allows the ability to heal animals. Starting Equipment: None

Archeology
This skill determines your ability to find, uncover, and understand ancient items and ruins. It affects awareness and concentration. When combined with Perception, the time to find uncovered objects is greatly reduced. When combined with Decoding, the time to decipher ancient languages is greatly reduced. Starting Equipment: Archeologist Tool Kit, Datapad GPR Upgrade

Botany
This skill determines your ability to find and use plants for various activities. It affects awareness, plant physiology, resourcefulness, and concentration. When combined with First Aid, the time to create healing remedies is greatly reduced. When combined with Perception, the time to find herbs is greatly reduced. When combined with Survival, the time to find herbs and create remedies is greatly reduced. Starting Equipment: None

Computers
This skill determines your ability to program software and hack into computers. It affects awareness, concentration, mathematics, and computer maintenance. When combined with decoding, the time it takes to hack is greatly reduced. Starting Equipment: Data Pad Link Speed Upgrade

Encoding/Decoding
This skill determines your ability to discover patterns. It affects awareness, mathematics, and concentration. When combined with Archeology, the time to decipher ancient languages is greatly reduced. When combined with Computers, the time it takes to hack is greatly reduced. Starting Equipment: None

Mechanics/Engineering
This skill determines your ability to repair and build devices. It affects concentration, mathematics, resourcefulness and general maintenance. When combined with Electronics, the time to create or repair an item is greatly reduced. When combined with Science, the time create an item is greatly reduced. Starting Equipment: Tool Kit

Science
This skill determines your ability to discover, understand and research scientific developments. It affects mathematics, concentration, and awareness. When combined with Mechanics/Engineering, the time to create an item is greatly reduced. Starting Equipment: Science Field Kit, Data Pad Composite Scanner Upgrade, Lab Smock

Misc:
First Aid
This skill determines your ability to quickly patch up flesh wounds and apply pain relievers. It affects awareness, concentration, and anatomy. When combined with Botany, the time to create healing remedies is greatly reduced. When combined with Survival, the time to find and create bandages out of raw materials is greatly reduced. When combined with Medicine, the time to heal is greatly reduced. Starting Equipment: First Aid Kit

Leadership
This skill determines your ability to lead a group and keep up morale. It affects charisma, awareness, psychology, sociology, and behavioral control. When combined with speech, morale is greatly increased. When combined with Tactics, the time to execute an attack and the attack's success is greatly increased. Starting Equipment: Portable Com Link

Medicine
This skill determines your ability to heal all types of wounds and apply pain relievers. Small wounds take twice as long to heal with this skill than first aid. It affects awareness, concentration, and anatomy. When combined with Animal Science, it allows the ability to heal animals. When combined with First Aid, the time to heal is greatly reduced. Perception
This skill determines your ability to detect others in and out of combat, traps, notice small details and see through disguises. In combat, it helps find targets at long ranges. It affects awareness and concentration. When combined with Archeology, the time to find uncovered objects is greatly reduced. When combined with Traps/Trap Detection, the chances of trap detection greatly increase. Speech
This skill determines your ability to persuade people and lie. It affects awareness, concentration, muscle control, and charisma. When combined with Disguising/Camouflaging, the chance to succeed greatly increases. When combined with Leadership, morale is greatly increased. Starting Equipment: None

Survival
This skill determines your ability to use the environment around you. This skill also allows minor healing but takes twice as long to heal as first aid. It affects awareness, resourcefulness, and psychology. When combined with Disguising/Camouflaging, the time to find resources for camouflaging is greatly reduced. When combined with Botany, the time to find herbs and create remedies is greatly reduced. When combined with First Aid, the time to find and create bandages out of raw materials is greatly reduced. Tactics
This skill determines your ability to come up with strategies in individual and full-scale combat. It affects awareness, concentration, psychology, sociology, and mathematics. When combined with Leadership, the time to execute an attack and the attack's success is greatly increased. Starting Equipment: Data Pad Core Scanning Upgrade, Data Pad Heartbeat Scanning Upgrade
