Loving the Wrong One

How was I supposed to know that the one I had fallen for wouldn't like me the same? How was I supposed to know anything about that? I can't read minds; I mean, whoever can, good for them. But I'm just oblivious to what people want apparently. And that goes for what happened a while ago...

Listening to Simple Plan, I strolled down the street, watching nothing in particular. Closing my eyes, I listened to the song of the birds singing and people laughing and kids playing...and shut it all out.

I was having a bad day. Nothing today was even moderately going my way. My grades were dropping, my parents fought more than usual, my siblings had it in for me, and the guy I had a crush on currently just told me he was gay, and had a boyfriend...right before I was going to tell him how I felt.

Life really sucked.

I continued walking down my street and came to a turn. Shutting out everything, I didn't see it until it was too late...

"Hey, watch out!"

Crash!

"Dude, you knocked her out!"

"I can see that, thanks."

Bright sunlight...hands on my arms...warm liquid draining down my forehead...

"Hey, darlin'.You okay?"

I knew that voice...I forced myself to open my eyes.

"Hey, she's waking up!"

"No shit, sherlock."

"Jason? Josh?"

"Look, she can talk!"

"Forunetly, it was us who hit ya, dear. If it was anyone else, I don't know what could of happened."

"Ha..." I groaned and sat up. Rubbing my eyes, I looked at Jason. He was kneeling beside me on my right in the grass. He was a curly brown-haired guy with weird blue eyes and a wicked smile. Really skinny, he wore a baggy blue long-sleeved shirt and blue baggy "jncos" that made him seem bigger. "How bad is it?"

"Well, it could of been worse..." Josh, on my left, grinned. He wore a black trench coat which flared about him as he kneeled on the grass. He also wore a black Punisher shirt and baggy black jeans. Unlike Jason, he was a bit chubby and reminded me of a tall Benji Madden."Jason could of hit you."

Jason looked up, and with a frown, reached across me to punch Josh in the shoulder.

"What did I do?" Josh pouted and got up, but he grabbed my hand as he rose, pulling me with him.

"Ow..."I groaned, rubbing my head. The world swirled around me and Josh caught me before I fell."Heh...Sorry."

"No worries."Josh smiled and there was something there...something I didn't like. He had his arms around me and I noticed his grip tighten. "Heh."

"C'mon, Josh. Stop flirting with her already!" Jason frowned. I blinked and smirked.

"Jealous, are we?" I laughed and wrapped an arm around Josh's shoulders. "Hmm?"

"Ho oh!" Josh's voice held triumph, which Jason quickly exstinguished by pulling me away from him and wrapping an arm around my waist to steady me.

"Now, c'mon! She needs a doctor."

"Aw, I'm fine..."I smiled weakly and tried to pull away, but he held fast.

"No. You got hit by a bike. Josh's bike, might I add." He gave a wickedly mean glance in the direction of Josh, who shaked his head and folded his arms across his chest."And we're going to take ya to the hospital, babe. There's nothing you can say that can make me do otherwise."

"Aw, that's not fair!" I grinned and pushed away. This time he let me get away, and I stumbled a bit before gaining my footing."See?"

"Umm..."Josh started as I began walking. I didn't notice the bike and before I knew it, I was on the ground again. I could safely say that I was pretty embarrassed.

"See?" Jason pulled me back up and I stumbled again purposly to make him let go. He got a idea of my plan and held me close. Our faces were only centimeters apart...
