April already? Geez. Only one month of school left though. Hurray. I bought Devil May Cry 3 last week and well it's pretty much the hardest, most awesomest game I've ever played. It's a good bashing game when you just want to take out some aggression. Like when my evil three-legged cat bites me or jumps on the table or rips up my homework or poops on the floor or... Yeah, he's pretty much the worst cat ever. We've contemplated getting a dog in the future to rough kitty up a bit and then eat him, but I'd feel too bad about that. So I guess we're just stuck with him. A good lesson about pity, when it starts to set in just look the other way.

So ski season is almost at an end, but Josh is having kind of a last hurrah with Jibij summer camps at A-basin during weekends in May. The team is coaching and you can demo most of next year's skis. Just sign up at the shop to fill out all the waivers and forms and all that good stuff. You can sign up for individual weekends or chose to do them all. Pre-order all of next year's skis from the shop right now. I like pre-ordering things because I usually forget that I've done it and it's a nice surprise when it shows up in the mail. There's free shipping on all pre-orders out of state. Call the store (303-440-1244 or 1-866-JIB-SKIS) for more info from the expert.

What up people? So this week I found out that two guys I used to work with years ago are in a little band called The Fray, and they just signed a multi-million dollar contract with Epic. So a little bit of advice: stay in touch with people becuase you never know who could become famous. In other news, school is officially ruining my life and there's nothing I can do about it except whine. Also, if you need ANY winter gear stop by JibiJ as they're having a huge sale on everything. The sale runs pretty much indefinately, but stop by now for the best selection or call 303-440-1244 to check pricing and sizes. They ship anywhere in the world. I also want to plug the band Emanuel as their full length debut comes out March 15 on, of course, Vagrant Records. If you like kick ass harder melodic rock, then they are the next new band for you. Sample their e-card at http://www.vagrant.com/ecards/emanuel.

If you're still reading this and are still interested then you win a prize for having a longer attention span than me. Send me a message on AIM at lupy2003 for some free Emanuel stickers and a poster. As for my love life if any of you care, we still haven't set a date for a wedding, but our parents are meeting tonight for the first time. Oh Lord... Over and out, Liz

1/4/05

Happy new year, everyone! I made it through 2004 alive and well. Winter break is almost over, but I'm kind of looking forward to classes. Meh, give it about a week. Christmas was awesome and Santa (aka Josh) was real good to me. Half-carat-diamond-and-new-setting good. I'm spoiled. Heheh. I recently took up the job of Vagrant Records rep for Colorado. Free stuff, free shows, life is good. Look for me handing out stickers at your favorite show. Also look for me at Helly Hansen in the mall. It's a fairly fun job, and I guess it pays pretty well. It gets really boring sometimes though. Really really boring, so come by and visit me. As for my ski life, well I can be found at Copper every Sunday so come ride with us. But I'm hungry now and anxious to tear off the next page on my Get Fuzzy calendar, so we'll talk later. Cheers, Liz

10/16/04

Woah. So it's been almost 5 months since I've written in this thing. Time sure flies when you're having fun. Lol. Cliches suck. Anyway, the shop is open and in full swing. In fact, the grand opening was yesterday, and it was amazing. Sooooo many people stopped by and hung out. Thanks to everyone who made it or has been there already. If you haven't been there yet, what are you thinking? Go. Right now. Ha. But yeah I found a job at the Nordstrom e-bar right after I posted my previous entry. It's been fun but I feel that I should move on to bigger and hopefully better things. As of today in fact I will be working at the Helly Hansen store right next to Galyan's. Hopefully it will be a good job that I will actually keep for longer than 6 months. Josh is doing well. He takes such good care of me and I'm so glad to have him. No date for a wedding yet but we're just happy where we are right now. The wedding is really just a formality. Tonight we're headed to Copper and then skiing Loveland with what seems like every freeskier in the metro Denver area. Should be a good time. Speaking of which, I still need to pack for so I'll say adios for now. Liz.

5/17/04

Ummm... so it's May already. I kind of skipped April, mostly because I was "studying" for finals (yah... uh huh). Anyway, school's over and I'm back where I was a year ago. At home. It blows, in case anyone was wondering. Doing the whole job search thing but it's pretty unsuccessful. There's not enough retail and too many kids here in Broomfield. Josh is done with major construction on the store, and it looks freaking awesome. They got the space on 28th street next to Dot's Diner so it's really a great location. He's carrying Line, K2, Armada, Liberty, DNA, Siver Cartel, Orage, Dakine, Nomics, Spy, Electric, and some others that I can't remember right now. I helped pick out the soft goods so come buy something. Well, I'm off to the mall yet again. Til next time, Liz

3/1/04

Woah it's March already. Only two months of school left... hurray. Well, well what's happening with my life right now? Too much to say on my crappy little page. Josh's dream store Jibij is coming into fruition. Opening date is around August 1. They're signing the lease Friday hopefully, so it will be located next to Dot's Diner on 28th. If you don't know where Dot's is, it's one block North of Fascinations. If you don't know what Fascinations is, you need some help. EVERYONE knows what Fascinations is. Anyway, the exciting part is that Josh gets an old truck from his parents and we don't have to spend half our lives waiting for the bus anymore. I hate public transportation so much. Hmm what else, what else? I haven't been skiing for two weeks because somehow my boots never end up in the same place I am. The drawbacks of having your own condo... But Josh and the crew went to Keystone yesterday and got some good shots. Josh handed out a bunch of stickers for the shop, and if anyone wants any just shoot me a message. There will also be two teams for the shop, so all you AM riders get your best footy together. On another note, I'm a "finalist" for an Epitaph Records internship position here in the Denver metro area. So fucking exciting. I just gotta get my resume polished up. Wish me luck. I'll keep you all posted. Yah, that's all for now. My calc hw is calling me. Pray for snow, Liz

My awesome 4 day weekend:

Wow. This weekend was crazy go nuts. Party at Brett's Saturday night, and I got to chill with my good friend Steph. Good times, but I stayed out too late. Damn I'm getting old. lol. 6 am Sunday woke up to go skiing at Copper with Ian and his co-workers. It was a freaking blizzard all day, but tons of fun none the less. Having a condo makes one sooooo lazy. And spoiled. We just decided to stay the night and drive back Monday morning. The adventure continued when I went to Aspen with LP and Dar at 10:00 am Tuesday morning. 4 hours later, we got there just in time for the girls' pipe jam. I'm a little more inspired now to go out and progress. Maybe someday I will be good enough in the park to compete. Skiing superstar Liz Manley. lol. After pipe we went into Aspen and LP ditched us to use his free ticket at Ajax. Bastard. So Dar and I went and ate at Boogies and made fun of the old high school pictures on the walls. Fun fun. Watched the "Aspen Rail Revolution" at the gondola. Tiny, 13-year-old Kye Peterson was killing it, and threw a switch up on the down-flat-down 15 stair rail while rocking the Oakley camo one piece. One word: badass. Super pipe finals began at 7:00 pm. Hiked up the pipe and got a spot right next to the measuring stick. Dave Crichton threw my favorite trick to watch, an alley oop 540 with a critical grab. So sick. If you go to expn.com and look at the photos, you can see me in the green jacket on the side of the pipe. It ended at 9:30 pm with Simon Dumont taking gold, Jon Olssen silver, and Peter "ass kicking" Olenick with bronze. He did so well this season which is surprising to me, but probably not to most people. Anyway to finish off, I finally got back to my dorm at 2:00 am and slept until I had to go to my 10:00 am today. What a weekend, and Josh gets back today! I'm so excited, but I need a nap. Laters, Liz

1/21/04

Yo. So it's about that time for another update about all the happenings in Liz's world, and this one's a shocker. Christmas night, Josh Bryant (boyfriend of almost a year) proposed and gave me a really beautiful ring. So yea, Liz is engaged. Major, I know. No wedding until I'm done with school though, which is about 3 years. No rushing or anything. lol. Since I have so much time to plan, expect a kick ass wedding. Ian suggested Whistler but who knows?? Also, Josh's plans for a freeski/jib shop (called Jibij Pro-Shop) is coming into fruition as he heads to Vegas and the SIA trade show this weekend to order goods for his store. Freaking exciting/awesome. If you live in the Boulder/Denver area, get ready and support the shop that supports you. He's planning on carrying Line, Armada, 4frnt, Liberty, K2, and either Dynastar or Rossi. BTW, Armada graphics for next year look so hot. 10000X better than this season's. Hmm what else is happening in my life? Well, after a mere semester of engineering I did the smart thing and got out while I could. I'm currently pursuing a degree in Kinesiology. Not quite sure what I'll do with that, but it's looking like something in physiology or sports medicine. This coming Tuesday I'm heading to Aspen to watch the women's super pipe jam, the rail jam in town, and then the super pipe finals. More on that later. Yah other than not skiing for over 2 weeks because I have no ride, things have been going pretty well, huh? Hint, hint: if you are heading up, drop me a line and take me with you =).

Over and out, Liz

12/11/03

Hey Kids. Long time, no write. Anyway, I'm all done with classes today. Finally!! No more engineering for me. I'm just not cut out to be an uber dork. I'm looking at kinesiology (sports medicine possibly) but I'm not too enthusiastic about that either. Meh. It's winter, and I'm happy. I'm still sporting the sandals though, and I'm being persecuted for it. Why oh why?? Also, why does Christmas have to come around every year and empty my bank account? Meh, looks like it's back to scooping ice cream for winter break. I hope to be at Copper for most of break though. I've been up now a few times, and it's shaping up very nicely. I definately can't wait until the whole mountain opens up. Then the fun can really begin. Remember, my condo's always open to all whenever I'm there. Just shoot me a message. Sorry this is so short, but I've got a ton of Christmas shopping I have to get to.

Take care, Liz

11/2/03

Ahhh, the cold. I absolutely love it. It is my element. Even more exciting is that I went skiing yesterday for the first time in months. Copper had a little mini jib park set up with some fun rails, a box, and a picnic table. Maybe this year will be my year, and I will actually progress and become ::gasp:: good in the park. Or maybe not. We'll see. Pretty soon I will be living at Copper onthe weekends. School's still there, and I'm doing alright. Probably not as well as I could be though. Meh. I've got lots to worry about now with school and skiing and shows. Speaking of shows, I'm going to see Rise Against on Monday at the Fox. I'm soooo excited. These guys are awesome, and if you haven't heard any of their stuff well then it's about time.

Think cold thoughts, Liz

10/13/03

Hola. It's been awhile since I've typed anything here, but who really reads about my life anyway? So school's going fairly well. Midterms are over and the damage is done for now, but I really must study more. Nah. It was sunny but freezing today so there's still hope for snow. I guess Loveland had to push back their opening date (eek!) so that doesn't look promising. As Dar prophisized, "we're going to have a dry ass fall and a wet ass winter." Let's all hope. Skiing is slowly becoming my obsession again after watching several ski movies last week, including the new TGR last weekend. However, there are still some awesome awesome tours/shows coming next week and beyond. Thrice, Coheed, and Thursday next Friday!! I hope my money holds out. hehe. Maybe I'll start a charity fund...

Take care, Liz

9/10/03

Hi guys. School's going really well. I'm studying a little i guess but managing to have fun at the same time. The rents still don't seem to be taking it too well. I got Family Guy season 3 yesterday on DVD and have been watching it non-stop. I freaking love that show. Stewie's definately my favorite. If you haven't ever seen this show, shame on you. It's kind of like the Simpsons but better (i know, i know it's hard to imagine). Unfortunately it was cancelled after it's third season, but you can catch it on TBS at 12:30 pm MT. Anyway, the first SSC general meeting was last night and boy am i stoked for this season. It's going to rock. The obsession is slowly growning, and I expected to hit full force sometime around the middle of October. Good thing ski movies are starting up. There are three that I know of showing in Boulder and PBP's will probably come here sometime also. If you want more info send me an email. -Liz-

8/27/03

Hi kids. Well all i really have to say is that college is damn fun. Heheh. School's going to be a bit difficult though. It's no walk in the park to become a rocket scientist. Anyway, school's going good. I wish I could say that about my social life. Ha believe it or not I'm not "Miss social". There's a shocker. I do have my Broomfield friends to fall back on but there are so many kids here I fell like I don't know anyone. I'm also not the best with names. Meh whatevs. I can't wait until it gets cold and snows. Heat sucks. I'm also stoked for this season, however I don't think I'll get in as many days as last season. That was ridiculous. Hopefully I'll have a few (if not numerous) parties at my Copper place. If you ever want to ski Copper and need a place to stay, hit me up. There's a nominal fee payable in alcoholic beverages or food. I can also get you a kids ticket for about $20. The lifties are awesome and do not check for adult or kids tickets. They're not dicks, like at Vail. Anyway, yah... call my celly also (Gdog Gdog Gd) if you're in Boulder cause I'm usually not doing anything. Or if you're going to a show, although Tulagi's got shut down. There are always ski movie premiers. First one's MSP's on Sept. 13th at Flatirons Theater on the hill. Admission's $10 and there's a lot of free stuff. See you there.

-Liz-

7/24/03

Woah. It's been a while. I'm sure my poor little pathetic blog was feeling neglected so I decided it was time for an update. Here goes.

"Summertime and the living's easy..." Yah that pretty much sums it up. Hawaii in June was awesome. I'm definately going back someday. Perfect weather and perfect beaches make for a great time. However, it was sad to come back home since that was my only vacation for the summer. We're all not as fortunate to be able to take 4 vacations like you LP. Little shit... Anyway, I've pretty much just been working my ass off making bank at the ice cream store. Haha, today we found the nutrition facts and have decided to change the store's name from "Marble Slab" to "Fat-in-a-Cup". Why you ask? 18 grams of saturated fat is why. In 8 ounces of ice cream (well our ice cream anyway) is 18 grams of saturated fat. That's 90% of your daily value! There's also 9 grams of just plain old regular fat. Hell, come get some ice cream. You won't need to eat for a week.

All this ice cream talk is making me sick. In other news, I move into the dorms in 26 days. Finally!! I went shopping with my mommy and got all of the "dorm essentials", including a lava lamp. Hell yah. Next year's gonna rock except for the school part, ironically. Hopefully all this engineering stuff will pay off after 4 years and I'll be rolling in dough by the time I'm oh about 25. Hey I can dream, can't I?

Also, if you haven't heard Nomics clothing will be rolling pretty soon with their new website. A temp page is up for now (www.nomics-inc.com) but the new one will be awesome. Check it out. Keep your eyes open for their clothes next season and a few other surprises. Hehe.

Well, I think that's enough fun for one day. Promoting obesity one cup at a time, Liz

6/11/03

Wow. I'm all growed up now. Graduated and everything... I love it. I had forgotten how awesome summer can be. It's weird thinking that I never have to return to the hell hole known as Broomfield High. If it mysteriously burns down because of a sporatic "grease fire" it wasn't me. Or LP. Heheh. Actually I don't think our school CAN burn down. I mean it's just a big cinderblock with only desks and doors to burn. Hell, the Boulder Valley School District would probably make us go anyway. But I digress. This is supposed to be about me. So let's get back to it.

I can now be found during every waking hour of my life at Marble Slab in Westy. I swore never to return to that place but alas here I am crawling back to it. Damn it. I'd much rather be at the pool tanning, or hurling myself off of cliffs into water, or in Breckenridge with the most wonderful person in the world, but no I'm down here. Meh. I lead such a horrible life. Speaking of a horrible life, it looks like I might be residing in a 4 bedroom penthouse suite in Boulder my sophomore year of college. If anyone is looking for a place to stay in two years (i know, i know, planning sucks) keep me in mind.

Well, me and my white pasty self are heading to bed. Til next time, Liz

5/19/03 (12 days until graduation)

The countdown is on, and my brain is off. Well, it never really was on to begin with, but my motivation is about spent. I recently saw The Matrix Reloaded and that got me thinking. If you haven't seen it yet, one of the main themes is choice. Someone once said that the only thing in life you have to do is die. Everything else is a choice. So, I don't really HAVE to do anything I don't want to do. But the movie also touched on predetermination so there really is no choice; you've already made it. Then there's also fate. Like love for example, do fate and chance govern who you'll fall in love with or do you choose? Or is is both?? Or is it neither? What if you never fall in love? Then what's responsible for that? Wow, all this philosophical stuff is hurting my poor brain. I want the answers now, but I guess I will just have to wait and stop worrying. I think Jake Gyllenhaal said it best in "Donnie Darko": "I can only hope that the answers will come to me in my sleep. I hope that when the world comes to an end, I can breathe a sigh of relief, because there will be so much to look forward to." More perplexing questions next time... -Liz

5/8/03 (23 days until graduation)

I love AP test week, especially when I'm not the one taking the damn tests. We don't do jack shit in class. Well, not that I did anything in class before anyway, but that's besides the point. Senioritis is fucking going terminal. However, it really bothers me when other kids say that they've been so ready to get out of school since spring break or whatever. FUCK! I've been ready since fucking SEPTEMBER when I got accepted to college. It still amazes me that right now some kids don't even know where they're going to school next year. Geez... sorry for the extra angst this week. Too much pent up rage and stress and withdrawl from the person I love can do that i guess. If you're still reading, you deserve a cookie. So go get one. If you don't have a cookie, I recommend ice cream with whip cream on top. Mmmmm... -Liz

4/29/03

Yo yo kiddies. Prom was awesome, but I'm still feeling tired from being up all night. I guess I'm just not as hardcore as I used to be... School is kicking my ass, and I only have one AP test to study for (Bio. Yuck.). Luckily, my teacher is having a study/cram retreat the weekend before the test, so maybe I'll actually learn something. Probably not.

If you haven't heard about it already or seen me sporting my red zip hoodie, NOMICS is an up and coming ski clothing company that's in the works right now. The owners (Jamin and Andrew Kimmell) will be producing t-shirts, hoodies, hats, and other stuff that you can buy starting in July. Look for the kick ass website (in July), and support these Colorado guys. That's all for now. Liz out.

4/22/03

Hi all. Sorry for not updating for a while. Nothing really to talk/bitch about. Well, another ski season has come and gone. Yah there still is A-basin to ski at, but I'm broke and need to pay for prom. Wow, prom... That's this weekend for me. As much as I hate to admit it, I'm actually looking forward to it cause I'm going with my best friend and a good time is guaranteed. I guess I hate prom so much because it's a little known fact that girls get really immature and overly girly about such a dumb, pointless event. If anyone sees me acting like this, please... slap me.

On another note, I'm going to plug my favorite CD of the week. Boy Sets Fire's new album "Tomorrow Come Today" is stunning. These guys never cease to amaze me with their intense lyrics and musical variety. This album in particular is extremely political, but their views are well justified and thought out. This is one disk I actually want to listen to from the first track to the last. Every song is incredible. The CD also comes with a neat DVD full of backstage and production footage. Go pick this album up now!! Until next time, Liz

3/31/03

Oh wow. Spring break did not disappoint. I spent most of it searching for freshies at Copper. I even got to ride the free cat that they have up there. It was incredible. I hiked for about 30 minutes and then skied at least 2 feet of untracked pow. That's what life is all about. Well, that and your friends and family. If you think otherwise, you might need to sort out your priorities. haha. Anyway, school's a bitch. Any motivation I had before my 2 week break is now gone. Senioritis is going fucking terminal. Graduation is so close and yet further than ever. And with ski season ending, I don't know how I'm going to deal. I do know though that graduation weekend is going to be insane, and I don't plan on remembering most of it. lol. It's been awhile since I've had a memorable night to reminisc about. As TBS says, "the finest line divides a night well spent from a waste of time." -Liz

3/18/03

Thank God for snow days. They keep me sane. Right now I'm sitting at home doing absolutely nothing, and I love it. Everyone needs unproductive days once in a while. Next week is spring break (finally!) and I'm so excited. No plans yet, but I'll be seeking out fun. Actually, I'll probably be at Copper for most of it, and at work when I'm not at Copper. I'm trying to cram in as many days of skiing while it lasts. This summer is going to suck and I need something else to keep me occupied when I can't go skiing. I'm thinking about taking up skateboarding, or maybe just getting a long board to cruise around campus next year. I dunno though. Just a thought. I know nothing about skateboards, so if anyone reading this does, feel free to drop me a line. Later days. -Liz.

3/10/03

Wow. This past weekend rocked which made up for the full week of school. I skied Copper and if you haven't been there yet this season, I highly recommend it. Their park is usually the best one during spring. It's sad to think that the season will be over soon.

School was actually fun today. I learned so much in physics, it was amazing. That class and economics are the only classes out of all my high school career that are actually relavant to my life.

On another note, don't take the fact that everyday you get the chance to see the person you love for granted. When you can't, it hurts really bad and they're all you can think about. It makes school even harder to concentrate on. The saying, "absence makes the heart grow fonder" is so true. So go hug the person that makes you happy. -Liz

2/27/03

So, this week was a struggle. School sucked more than usual, and I haven't skied for three weeks (two weekends). I want to go skiing! I don't want to even think about how bad it will be during the summer. However, that led me to an epiphany: skiing doesn't mean that much to me anymore. I mean, I love skiing and all (don't get me wrong, I wouldn't quit for the world), but I miss it surprisingly less now than if I were faced with the same three week withdrawl earlier in the season. I've realized that skiing was a just good excuse to get to hang out with my friends, meet new people, and have a blast in the process. But now that I've made and established connections with new people, I enjoy hanging out with them off the hill as much as (if not more than) on the hill. It's the comradery that comes with skiing, and not just the sport itself, that matters. Next winter is so uncertain because I probably won't get to ride with the same kids I love skiing and hanging out with on the hill. It makes me sad to think about it because so many good times were had. Here's to the memories.

I don't know what brought on this realization about skiing. It might be the result of the school year coming to a close (sort of) and gradution in a mere three months and I'm feeling expecially nostalgic. Life is so much more than skiing or soccer or school. In the end, all that really matters are the people who care about you and that you care about. That's it, and I hope everyone realizes this before it's too late. Okay, enough insight for now. Liz out.
