combat rock god joe strummer

this is my page devoted to the great joe strummer joe formed his pub rock band before relizing hed never leave the pub svenes while with the 101ers he decided punk was gonna get him off the streets. he recieved an offer to join london ss from mick jones and paul simonon at the unemployment office. joe beleived that the clash could change the world with a 3 minute song and did just that. from his days in the unemployment office until 1985 when the clash borke up joe, mick, paul, topper, and terry(torry) change the lives of everyone who listened and those who refused to. after leaving the clash everyone went on with their lives except strummer. joe hid from the media until close to the 90's to sit out a contract he then released his first and final solo album. joe later formed the mescaleros who recorded two albums and is working on a third. in november 2002 joe received the news the clash would be inducted to the rock and roll hall of fame. at the age of 50 he became the most lively person on earth and began planning a performence. one month later he suffered cardiac arrest and die at the age of 50 unknowing how many lives would be touched durring and after his life. bruce springstein and many others performed london calling as a tribute at the grammys. london calling was chosen as #38 on vh1's top 100 songs of the past 25 years. and most of all joe strummer inspired me to pick up a guitar. ill never change the world with three chords. nor will i be such an icon in rock history. we in bristolville salute joe and will one day join you, wherever you are.
