Welcome to Becca, Nicole, Jessica, and Crystal's Webpage about Gilmer County. We are all seniors of Gilmer County High school. We are taking this class "Travel and Tourism", showing people what the world is like were they have never been or would like to go.

If you have never been to North georgia there is a little town call "Ellijay". The home of the Apple Festival and their delious apples. There are so many places around Ellijay to go. There is Fannin County (Blue Ridge). There is so much outdoor stuff to do around the region. Some of the places I'm going to mention to you are...

CARTER'S LAKE- if you like to go on picnics and just enjoy the outdoors Carter's lake is the best place. Heres another thing they have a beach/lake so you, family, and friends can enjoy the lake and have fun outdoors too. There are hiking trails that you can go on if you don't want to swim. The trails are right by the beach/lake. The lake does NOT have a life guard b/c it is shallow. For more info click on the Carter's Lake link for hours and days it is open. How to get there and more.

Fort Mountain

Fort mountain is a place where you can swim in a the lake. You can camp in the camp ground. You can also see four counties from the top of the mountain. It a beautiful place to spend the day.

Amicalola Falls

Amicalola Falls is a amazing place to go and spend the day with family. You can see the tallest water falls around here. There is a lot of hiking involved if you want to see the top of the mountain. You can picnic here. You can take a class on the animals that are found around the area. Like Snakes and other animals.
