It all started when Nicole found her mom's old guitar which no one was using at the time... so she began to take lessons with a lot of pleading with her mom. Kelsey and Nicole and Kari were in a play together and started a "band" in the bathroom while waiting to go on stage and preform. They were called the "Black Butterflies" because they were dressed in all black and the play was called "The Butterfly Net."
Sometime, Kelsey and Nicole don't exactly remember when, it came up in a conversation that they both wanted to be in a band. Kelsey's next door neighbor had a bass and was willing to teach her, because she was currently in a band with him, playing the saxaphone and cowbell. Kelsey has now left that band, because of creative differences and because it was just so boring.... Soon, she decided to get her own bass, instead of just borrowing her neighbors, with the help of her grandpa.
Parisa has guitar lessons right after Nicole, so they started talking about guitar and their teacher. So, when Nicole and Kelsey wanted to form a band, Parisa was a viable option.... And when asked, she accepted. Now they just needed a drummer... Hannah or Kathryn. They asked Hannah and she didn't seem too excited, but Kathryn, on the other hand, was excited even though she didn't know if she could fit it into her busy schedule.
But before Kathryn, they may have had another drummer.... At Kelsey's 15th birthday party they were playing Ouija and they asked if Nicole and Kelsey were going to have band and if Parisa was going to be the lead guitarist. Which it said "yes" to. Next, they asked what their name was going to be and it said "CW." They then realized that they needed a drummer, which Kay wanted to be, but they never really took her seriously cause she never had played the drums before.
Kelsey and Nicole were trying to decided on a name for the band. They came up with things like... Clear Waste and The Barbies. While they were talking about this in 1st period American Studies... Nicole put her foot on the desk and said: "There's something in my shoe." They thought that would be a good name... but it didn't go with the CW thing, so they made it into a song.
Later, while Nicole was on vacation in Hawaii, she was thinking of names and though Copyright would be a good name. But since they were copying all these songs other artists had made, they decided to spell it all funky and make their name be CopyWright.
Around came their school's winter band show and Kelsey talked to Kathryn to see if she was up for practicing a lot and she said that she was very busy and Kelsey had forgotten that Kathryn had told her before that she wouldn't have time to. So CopyWright was now didn't have a drummer and Nicole talked to Parisa and Parisa said that she didn't have time either and felt as though she was really bringing down the band although she wanted to be in it. So Kelsey and Nicole advertised and found their friend's sister's friend that had seen some of the advertisement, Nate who plays drums and guitar. Then Emmalee said that she was interested in playing with them. So Nate became CopyWright's drummer and Emmalee became CopyWright's lead guitarist. That's where CopyWright is at now.
