Hello hello hello! You must be having a hard time trying to figuring out what to wear to my eighties fourteenth birthday party!! So here are some ideas. I got my outfit from Goodwill, so I'd try there or Salvation Army. Also! I may be asking you to borrow things for decerations!! For The Guys: *Rock Stars* Adam Ant - Short Jacket w/ lots of pins on it. Sporadic braids in hair with yarn and tinfoil braided in. Tight leather (or vinyl) pants. Be sure one braid falls down over forehead. Lots of scarves and bandanas tied around arms and legs, along with feather "roach" clips. Tall boots will look awesome. Eyeliner, and lip gloss are required (sorry guys), as well as white streak across nose. Click here for a picture of Adam Ant. Blues Brothers - Wear a black suit, black tie, white shirt and a black fedora. Get a friend to do the same if you'd like. Click here for a picture of the Blues Brothers. Billy Idol - Spiked blonde hair, tight leather (or denim) pants, silver hoop earing on your left ear, silver chains and/or crosses. Slightly torn, sleevless T-shirt, a black vest or bare-chested for the top. Click here for a picture of Billy Idol. Boy George - Braided hair (or wig) with lots of colored yarn, tin foil and long hair braided into small sections, white lab coat, mulitcolored eye makeup, a black hat with a brim. Click here for a picture of Boy George. Duranie (a.k.a. a member of the Duran Durans) - Brightly colored, slim cut auit, with a skinny leather tie. White shirt. Hair should have a good loft, I recommend Aqua Net Extra Hold. Eyeliner, lipp gloss, and a pout are necessary (once again, i'm sorry guys!)Click here for a picture of Duran Duran. Micheal Jackson - Black skinny pants, white (or silver) crew socks, a skinny white T-Shirt, and a red leather jacket. One glove on your right hand. Short curly hair. I don't think I need to put a picture of Micheal Jackosn, I'm pretty sure we've all seen him from time to time. Prince - Lonf fitted jackets (purple!), hair moussed and swishing over one eye, lower high heel boots, ruffled shirts and pants that button up the legs. Click here for a picture of Prince. *Characters* Don Johnson/Miami Vice - Ah yes...every women's dream man. Pastel "Italian" style suit (baggy pants, big wide shoulders, and a T-Shirt underneath. Loafers with no socks, and a just ain't have time to shave today look. Click here for a picture of Don Johnson. The "Noid"/Dominos Pizza Mascot - Pick up a one piece suit union at the local surplus army store and dye it red with RIT dye. Wear red high top Converses and sew (or glue) a hat with long "flaps" hanging off the side of your head (felt or cotton works for this). Use felt to pin a big "N" on the front of your union suit and carry a Dominos Pizza box. Click here for a picture of the Noid. Jeff Spicoli/Fast Times At Richmond High - Sean Penn had this look down, the stoned surfer boy. Hawaiian shirts unbuttoned down the front, Bermuda shorts, slip on Vans and a tanned, space-y look. "Dude, I'm sooo totally there." Click here for a picture of Jeff Spicoli. Mr. T - I pity the fool who doesn't want to come as Mr. T. All those gold chains might be a bit spendy, but you can fake the look with fabris trim you can pick up at the fabric store for cheap. Buy a few yards and wrap around your neck and wrists. Mohawk wig, black vest an black pants. Once again, I think we all know what Mr. T looks like. Pee-Wee Herman - YAY! Eye heart Pee-Wee. Skinny (preferably too small) light gray suit, a white shirt, red bow tie. Part hair slightly to the side and slicker down with gel. Put a little blush on the roses of your cheeks and just a little touch of red lipstick. Although I'm more than positive we all know what he looks like, click here for a picture of Pee-Wee Herman. Boy Smurf - A white stocking cap, white pants, white shoes, and a lot of blue makeup should complete the look for you quite nicley. Be sure to completle this look by replacing common words with Smurf. "That's delicious!" goes to "That's Smurfalicious!" Click here for a picture of a Boy Smurf. Steve Urkel/Family Matters - At the very cusp of the 80s is a character that is very well known and loved, the total dork, Steve Urkel! Wear really innocucous polo shirts, white flood pants pulled up as far as they will go held tight with suspenders. You must have dorky glasses (I have some from a play I was in if anybody needs to borrow them, they don't have any strength to them). Click here for a picture of Steve Urkel. Tom Cruise - White T-Shirt. blue jeans, and a black sports coat. Wear wayfarers and act vacant. *OTHERS* Letter jackets, satin jackets, "member only" jackets, big cheesy oversized button up shirts, leather pants/jackets, plain white t-shirts, spiked hair, mullets, etc. For The Girls: *Rock Stars* Cyndi Lauper - Brightly colored, mismatched tutu's and crinolines, jean jacket and lots of multi colored plastic jewlery, like you find at Mardi Gras, and wrap them around your wrists and neck. Find (or make) a colorful bustier (dye very well with RIT dye.) Buy two or more spray in hair color and rat you hair up. Big fake eyelashes with glitter in the will finish this look. Click here for a picture of Cyni Lauper. Madonna - Crop tops (with mesh overlays) lots of crusifixes and beaded jewlery, rubber braclets from your wrists to your elbows. Big cross earrings. Hair should be ratty and tied up with a bandanna or a lace scarf. Short skirts with holey tights, cut off T-Shirts and short boot shoes. Click here for a picture of Madonna in "Desperatley Seeking Susan". Siouxsie Sioux - Buy black hairspray and rat your hair huge! Clothing should be all black, however splahes of red will work too. Use face powder to appear very litely complexed. You MUST wear red lipstick and black eye makeup. Also, penciled in squared off eyebrows, and exotic clothing. Girl Smurf - A white stocking cap, white dress, and white pumps,a nd lots of blue makeup. Act adorable all night, and be sure to replace common words with Smurf. Valley Girl - Bright neon colors are good, sweatshirt dresses with headbands, leg warmers, and skinny leggings. Catch Phrases? "Like..." "Like totally!" "Barf out!" "Gag me with a wooden spoon!" and "Fer shure!" *OTHERS* Leg warmers, tights or fishnets with holes ripped in them, "flashdance" sweatshirts, leggings, pumps with not so high heels, satin jackets, stirrup pants, crimped hair, neon colors, etc.
