Coughed up from the deep
murky depths of Christchurch, New Zealand a phenomenon has been born. Abcess,
named after a kind of ulcer (yes we realise it is spelt wrong), play the
kind of thumping
dirty punk rock that the world has been in need of for a
very long time.
Formed in the Easter holidays of 2003, abcess consists of Chris Young (vocals, temporary bass until we find a new bass player), Tim Bathgate (lead guitar, backing vocals) and Bri Yaakoup (drums). They were formed when Chris moved from Burnley, England where he had played in bands such as Arsenic and leg (formally known as Punkin heads until they reformed with a different line up after Chris left) on lead guitar. He then posted an ad on a website which Tim and Bri replied to. They hope to be playing more gigs around the Christchurch area soon so keep an eye out for that. |
