No Pads No Helmets...Just Balls!

March 19th is the best day ever! Yes, the boys released their much-anticipated, long-awaited debut album No Pads No Helmets...Just Balls!

And unlike the one in Chart, here's review that you might actually like!

1. I'd Do Anything: This song is absolutely IMPOSSIBLE to NOT sing along to. The infectious vocal tandem of Pierre Bouvier and guest Mark Hoppus of Blink 182 is guaranteed to make you want to belt out "I'd do anything just to hold you in my arms..." Just try not to sing it in public places, like the bus...otherwise you may have creepy 40 year old men hitting on you (or 40 year old women for guys...or not?!)

2. The Worst Day Ever: Many pre-"Kid" SP fans are familiar with the demo version of this song. However, the new version is faster, with slightly different vocals than the demo version. Definately a change for the better!

3. You Don't Mean Anything: Next time that asshole in Math class makes a snide remark, just remember these words, "You don't mean anything to me, you're what I NEVER want to be..." This song has a moshpit-friendly beat and with a guest vocalist like Good Charlotte's Joel Madden, this song couldn't get any better!

4. I'm Just a Kid: I definately like this song better when it's performed live. I think I may have grown sick of it over the past few months as I waited for Just Balls to be released. It's definately my least favourite on the album, but it's a great song performed live.

5. When I'm With You: Again, this song has been changed slightly from the demo version. The music is a little louder compared to the vocals and the song has sped up from the demo. I love the ending with the overlapping vocals...Awesome.

6. I'll Meet You There: This is the "ballad" of them album. With touching words such as "Even if I need you here, I'll meet you there..." you'd have to be made of stone if this song didn't strike an emotional chord. It says everything that I would want to say to someone who had just past away. It's one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard.

7. Addicted: Ahh...a long time favourite of mine. I love the beginning with the single guitar and then the rest of the band joining in. As Pierre said "This is the song you all jump to!" I find it ironic as it has upbeat instrumentals and the lyrics are about wanting something you can't have.

8. My Alien: Again, this has been changed slightly from what some of the first fans are familiar with. But once a good song, always a good song.

9. God Must Hate Me: Okay, I was singing this song during my 12 minute run in gym and people were staring at me kinda weirdly. I find this song to be quite funny in a morbid sort of way. For example: "Last night, I had to study for this test/I forgot man I'm dead..." Not the deepest lyrics but it's a cute and catchy song...definately one I would LOVE to see live...(I got gipped at the Opera House! I wanted them to play it sooo bad!)

10. I Won't Be There: I was a little shocked to hear a metallic-y techno-ish introduction, after hearing the heavy guitars on the original version. But I like it...it's more funky. This song is awesome...I'm not sure what kind of drugs Chart magazine was on when they published the article that said Simple Plan lacked catchy hooks, because this song is the epitome of catchy!

11. One Day: This song is my favourite on the album. It almost had a ska-ish intro, but at the same time the bass line reminds me of that old song "I'm a joker, I'm a smoker/I'm a midnight toker..." This song just makes you want to dance all weird-like while singing "Nananana nanana na one day! nananana nanana..." Awesome awesome song.

12. Perfect: Get you kleenex's ready because this song is a tear-jerker. It seems to have struck a chord with every kid who's bought the album, because everyone has felt the pressure of trying to make their parents approve of them. "I'm sorry, I can't be perfect..." This song is incredibly sad and Pierre's voice just makes you want to cry (and I mean that in a good way! He sounds awesome!) The song is bound to take you on an emotional rollercoaster, but it's definately a song that you don't want to miss!
