I lie here surrounded in blue
Staring out the glass into the wide sky
The wind rushes through my tree
And the dazzling emerald leaves
Flutter and twist, dance and move
In the breeze
In the spaces between
Sometimes blue sky peeks through
Seeing the contrast--
Cobalt blue and emerald green--
Quickens my heartbeat,
And momentarily stops my breath
I think of you
In the juxtaposition of tree and sky
You and I
So different, so strangely blended
I see myself in the bending leaves
The sound of your voice on the wind
I see your face, your soul
In the space behind the contrast
