1) "Elora Danon: Point Line Plane"
CDEP $6
The Lehigh Valley's favorite indie band finally has a CD! Elora Danon
was formed in early 2002 by ex-William Tell Routine/Government Satire
members looking to start a serious but fun oriented band. This was recorded
in a DIY house studio and contains 6 rock songs. Released by Outreach/Fish
and Chips/Blackbear collaboratively. This is a good indication of where
this band comes from when they began and perhaps a hint of where they
are going....Fish and Chips/BlackBear/OutReach Records
2)
"Lehigh Valley: Punk Rock Rally"
CD $5
Every now and then a compilation comes along that makes you say "Holy
crap, I need every band's CD on this comp!" And yes, this
is one of those times. "Lehigh Valley: Punk Rock Rally" contains
23 punk/hardcore/indie/rock/ska songs recommended for anyone who likes
music. Period. With almost 70 minutes of music, how can you possibly
go wrong? The first release of Fish and Chips records and definitely
not the last...Fish and Chips Records
3) "Various Artists: Taking
the Short Bus to Fame" CD $4
A great compilation CD mostly of the pop punk and/or ska genre. It has
a nice amount of local bands however there are some from places other
than PA. Of course there's nothing like that good ol' PA punk rockin'
sound, but this comp is definitely a solid release. 19 Tracks. Includes:
East Coast Avengers, Slightly Askew, Wheelie, Evacuation Plan, and many
many more....2001 Rug Rubber Records.
4)
"Slightly Askew- Rock Rinse, Repeat"
CD/LP $11
Take a little bit of reggae, a little bit of old school punk, and a
whole lot of Bosstones and this is the sound you will get. A very upbeat
ska/punk sound with hints of strong ska influences yet very original
in itself. A quality release...2002 Rug Rubber Records.
5)
"Government Satire/Defiant Trespass" Split
CD $4
A CD to end all split CDs. This is the first release from the fast-growing
Square of Opposition Records, infused with fast street punk-hardcore
lyrics and catchy guitar these are songs for the pit. Read the lyrics
and you'll find out that these bands also keep their heads straight
and eyes open. Political awareness is the key here. Street Punks and
you Oi kids eat your hearts out with this one. 12 Tracks from Government
Satire, 9 tracks from Defiant Trespass...2001 Square of Opposition Records.
6)
"The Insurgent- Loudest Letter"
7" $3.50
Long Island DIY punk/hardcore band with emphasis on society and communication.
From what I hear they put on a not to be missed live show. Check this
one out...4 tracks Square of Opposition Records.
7)
"Idle Youth- Idle Youth"
CD $6
Fast ferocious street-punk thrash is what you can expect from this band.
Their energy and political awareness help to prove that punk rock still
alive and well...Scum Records.
8)
"Ritter- Limited Release"
CD $6
Ritter make their scene debut with this 4 song 'demo.' Wielding a guitar
player turned singer from the critically acclaimed band "The Overdrives",
this band puts on a great live show, and are pretty nice guys too which
is always a plus. Anyways, this release reminds me of good Bigwig and
early Green Day. Not just songs about girls...good songs about girls...Dressed
to Kill Records.
9)
"Square One- In Earth EP"
CD EP $4
This
EP released in September 2002, definitely shows the musical growth of
Square One from their previous releases. This is a great punk rock EP
with mature songs and great musical content. Some of the guitar melodies
remind me of Thrice. If you don't know what to get I'd recommend picking
this one up...A+...Red Army Records

More will
be added soon....I know I said I was getting tunes from overseas, this
was put on hold after BYOFL got messed up.
<sigh>
If any bands want to be added to the distro page just send me an email
