The Creepy Kids really got started in November of 2000 though they were a band about 3 months before that.   In the beginning; Cecil, Mark and Matt got together to form an old school punk band. They didn't find a bass player until November when Cecil met Tony in his radio class. He found one Monday afternoon while riding the excercise bikes in gym class that Tony had bought his first bass three days earlier and since he was looking for a bass player and Tony was into punk rock, he was invited to the first practice on Wednesday evening.   Over the next few weeks they practiced and were learning about 2-3 songs a night then ate the traditional after-practice pizza at Corigliano's. This was the setting for the usual debate on the name of the band. After heated discussions, 'Ripoff' was decided on. Soon after, Cecil changed it to the Creepy Kids and they all agreed (cuz 'Ripoff' sucked).   After playing shows and practicing in Mark's mother's basement, summer came; and with summer came scheduling conflicts with Matt who was working almost 60-70 hours a week, being in band for school, and being in a fellow 515 band with Tony's younger brother, - Driving While Stupid. After practice rescheduling and cancellations, Matt left the band leaving the Creepy Kids once again as a 3-piece.   After about 3 months of searching, the Creepy Kids found Andy, a metal kid who looked emo and played drums. After practicing twice with Andy, the Creepy Kids were already playing shows. Andy brought a new energy to the band with his aggressive playing style (he hits fucking hard).    After some time with this line-up, Tony left the band. He had taken the guitar/background vocals for Driving While Stupid, the same band the Creepy Kids lost Matt to, and being more a ska kid than hardcore, began feeling less a part of Creepy Kids.    After more searching and accepting open inquiries, Chad emailed the band noticing the spot and being friends with the guys already, this should have been an obvious replacement. The band is now back to playing shows with this line-up. |
