ALL HOPE ABANDON formed in the summer of 2000, as an off shoot of another local band consisting of, Chris Perry (guitar), Rob Frasca (bass, formerly of Blankstare), Ed Zvekic (vocals, formerly of fiercenorthern), and Brad McNeice (drums, formerly of fiercenorthern). Sadly Rob Frasca had to leave us due to some very personal issues that he was dealing with at that point in time. Shortly thereafter, we picked up Chris Kong on Bass, and ditched Chris Perry due to his lack of interest. It was then that Ed gave up the duties of a vocalist, and filled the shoes of lead guitar. This was the line-up of the band for some period of time, but alas, no vocals. All Hope Abandon continued this way for almost a year, relentlessly writing songs, practicing, and never giving up hope (oxy moron, I know) of finding a vocalist. It wasn't until the summer of 2001 that Robb Mirsky joined the band as front man, and All Hope Abandon was finally ready to break out of the basement and tear shit up!
But as quickly as that began, it ended. Brad no longer felt the mojo running through his bones when playing with AHA, so sadly in March of 2002 he left to pursue a life of heavy metal, but not before recording their first disk… AHA continued looking for the drummer that would round them off, and thankfully Shawn Hawley came into the picture. Hailing from Ajax, with fists of fury, Shawn gave the drumming more of a punk feel, and All Hope Abandon was back in full throttle ready to tear down the walls to our society...
AHA's old drummer Brad is now working on a new project with Eddy and Robb, and they might be changing their name... They would appreciate it if people would send them ideas for names. They would like to thank Chris and Sean for coming out.
More to come as the story unravels.
