4FT FINGERS
From Hero To Zero
KKKK
RELEASED LAST year, 4Ft Fingers' 'At Your Convenience' debut album boasted catchy-as-hell punk tunes and a skateboarding toilet on the cover. This follow-up features more of the same (except for the toilet), establishing the quintet somewhere near the front of this particular genre's field. And while pop-punk isn't exactly hard to come by at the moment, 4Ft Fingers stand out thanks to the quality of their tunes and an uncompromising attitude that has more in common with hardcore.
'Proud To Know You' is a belter of an opener; raucous and upbeat, it starts the album in style.
Thankfully, things actually get better from thereon in. 'Emergency Manoeuvre' is as good as anything written by, say, Sum41, while the explosive 'Busted' proves to be the highlight of what is a very good album indeed.
