Rugby League

How you all doing. This is the second editors comments for this web site. I'm Joe Drew from Canberra, Australia and I'm the creator of this web site.

This year has been a bad year for me because of the legends that are leaving League. Laurie Daley, Brett Mullins, and David Furner are leaving for the Raiders which I think they can cope without them but with these legends going, it will be a great loss to the Raiders and the game. Laurie Daley has been an inspiration to our game. His debut was in 1987 along with another great, Glenn Lazarus. He starred in his first game of top grade Rugby League. From then on, he has guided the Raiders to three premierships out of four. Every game he goes out and tries his best for the Raiders. I recently watched the Footy Show on channel nine and they had a big hit competition on. It was a competition for the biggest hits in Origin history and out of the four comps, two of them had Laurie Daley winning it. He also won the overall biggest hit which shows how great he was at Origin as well as club football.

Other players that Canberra will miss are David Furner and Brett Mullins who are both going to England. Brett Mullins is one of the most exciting fullbacks ever in Rugby League history. His career has been hurt by his injuries that he has suffered in the past but not even that could stop him from being one of the all time greats in my opinion. He is probably the fastest player and most cunning player even now.

David Furner is also going to England and he is definatly another great. He has been like a leader for the Canberra forwards and has inspired many people with the way he plays. His bobbing and weaving style of game is remembered by all people no matter who the support.

I hope all these players do their best in the furure to try to help Rugby League everywhere.

Other then these players going, there are a lot more going as well. Most are going to England. Some of these include Adrian Lamb, Matthew Johns, Jason Heatherington, Bradley Clyde, and Darren Britt. There are more players going but there are also players that are retiring. These include Ricky Stuart, Laurie Daley, and Anderw Ettinghouson.
