Norwich Rock City eh. More like Norwich run down hardly anyones heard of, not big enough for good bands to come yet big enough for the Nazi's to blow up City. As you might of guessed i come from a shitty village just off Norwich. I am putting Norwich down a bit too much for what it is worth for some bands do come here and there are a couple places to go hang out. Norwich (for all you uneducated fools or anyone that don't live in Southern England) is in Norfolk England and is a boring city in Farmer county.

The Punk Rock Scene

K, the punk rock scene, ermm, yeah. Norwich has well three places possible to support the punk rock scene. We have Fat Pauly's. A grunge club based under a multi-storey car park. It hold quite a few with a bar and also a Stage and small mosh Area. Run by Fat Pauly himself and also Blank Canvas Records it has every Friday nite a Empower nite. This envolves in normally a metal band or two coming from usually the Uk come and Play. Occassionally we get some Punk bands normally local like Spot or No Comply playing on that night too. Once a month or so we get a Saturday night gig which is normally Punk where we get some big bands come. We have had King Prawn and Wizo and [spunge] over the last half a Year. Wizo was a great gig. Other than Fat Pauly's the there is "The Waterfront". Holds more people and has a bigger stage. This also every month or so has good gigs playing quite often metal and rock but sometimes the good old punk too. I have seen, Less Than Jake (twice), MxPx, Snuff, King Prawn, Jersey down at the Waterfront but the metal is more often. Pitchshifter, Workhorse Movement, One Minute Silence, Sona Fariq, Guano Apes, Earthtone9. It is a great venue and also quite cheap. Finally there is the UEA. This is where the bib boys play. I haven't seen any bands there and have known no punk bands to play there either. But Amen are coming to play in January which should be good.

Scattered across the city in small places all over there are some cool skateboard and BMX stoes like HOAX, Revolutionz and Drift. There are the usual music stores like HMV but also good indie stores like Soundclash and a new shop just opened Hidden Records. Finally Norwich has (supposedly) the biggest indoor skate park in England based in some warehouses next to the Bus Station.

As Less Than Jake called us
"Norwich Rock City" i wouldn't quite like to agree but it ain't that bad.
