| Okay some people have different opinions on how this band started. Some feel that it started with Brian Rutt. But it did not. That was what I like to call the "Brian Rutt Band". We made a few songs with him, or should I say he made them and made us play along to that rancid sound. He had a horrible voice and he seriously made me hate playing. So me and Bryan, my brother and drummer, decided it was best to move on and actually get someone who didn't make us play crappy ass rip off songs. So we kicked Brian Rutt out, well not really since he started it, but we left. He got pissed and was like "Yo without me you have no talent anyways, your band is gonna go nowhere." Well needless to say he is out on the corner giving handjobs for crack, ko2 does. Then we started searching for a guitar player and stuff. I tried to get Jr also known as Mark Hoppus(nickname) to play with us. He didn't want too, he was gonna make drums in tech ed and bryan was gonna play guitar. By the way I'm about to let you in on every detail of the making of this band, so if you dont really care I suggest you stop reading. If you want to read it cool, grab some chips, your mom and cuddle and read. Alright so that thing with Jr never worked out, because I think he got jealous when my mom bought drums for bryan at cash converters. We got ripped off by the way. Alright so we had bass and drums, we searched around among our friends for guitar players. We tried to get corey mutter to play guitar, he went out and bought one and was getting guitar lessons. He never really showed up, I guess he thought it a joke. Well then we said f you, and we tried to get derek to play guitar. He really didn't know how to play, so I was like fine you can like sing and shit. Basically all we played was covers in the basement for the time being. With no one there at all. Well then he started playing hockey and stuff and kinda went a seperate way, and we weren't really doing anything with the band. One day me and derek strause were skateboarding down at the church when we see korey brice stroll or should I say ride up on his bike "royal" which he has indicted. Oh yeah I'm getting lazy and not using that many caps so you can lick a lolli. Alright so he slowly came up and me and derek looked at each other sort of in half shock. We were like holy shiz we haven't seen him since a long ass time ago. Me, korey, derek, and korey's brother mike were childhood friends of long ago. One time we got kicked out of a pool because korey told the lifeguard she had a nice ass. Keep in mind we were very young like 4th or 5th grade. Well that was my grade anyways. I guess that would make him like 2nd. Haha. On with the story. So this fucker walks up or rides, haha, he found out we were trying to start a band or had a band from Jill Williams. So he asked me about it and I said yeah. Hes like "you play bass?" which I naturally said yes. "are you any good?", "well I am alright I guess". "Lets go see!". So we slowly ride back to my house chatting along the way. He came down in the basement and borrowed derek's guitar which was there. Derek got mad and stuff, I don't know why. Anyways, I heard him play and was like shit! He actually knows how to play power chords. He showed me some of his supposed songs. Which were actually other bands songs. But he did play some of his too. So I thought this kid was really good at guitar. I asked him to play with us after a few jam sessions. He heard never be a hit, our first song ever, and was like holy shit thats awesome. When I thought it sucked personally. Alright so we let him in december 4th 9:04 pm. So this is when I think the real band started. We started off being called stryk nine. I thought it sounded cool because I heard it in Social Studies class. I didn't even know what the hell it was, oh well. I found out later it was this poison that would kill you. So that was cool and stuff. And in social studies I remember her talking about loose fecal matter right after it. So it matches. Yeah well we started out. And korey was much different than I had expected. Thats always how it is with new people. See I had learned to play bass while playing with other people all the time. But most other people don't get this oppotunity and go off on their own while playing. For instance its even as horrible as people messing up and then continue to just keep playing, not even trying to come back with anyone else. It was sort of like this with korey but not as bad. All his riffs where choppy and he had a lot of trouble playing fast. Well this was for a short time he practiced a lot and came around quickly. Thats not to say me or bryan had nothing wrong, which is far from true. We were not tight with each other at all, but despite this we continued to write songs. And you could tell how we got better at song writing because we played the songs in exact order we made them all the time. Yippy. Alright so we made songs up to psycho mom, which rounds it out to 10 songs. Not even 20 minutes worth of music. But I made a web page and one day decided to advertise it on a few sites including the afterglows message board. Hiester had heard we had a band and asked us to come to his house and play. He listened to us play and said we were pretty good and got us a show. It was the shit and a great time for us. We kept practicing hard for this show date. So then we played and I think we had a good reception. But personally I saw the tape later in time, we sucked, had no energy, and messed up loads of times. I was shitting bricks before that show. Actually it wasn't bricks, it was more like water. Because I was so damn nervous. And this is actually when the internal problems with korey started brewing. We wanted to be toghether as a band before the show and calm each other down. But korey decided skateboarding would be a better idea, despite him telling me he would be there. He finally showed up a lot later than he said he would. I was pissed but we played. Then I would say a few weeks later, Frank Phobia called us back later because a band dropped out and he desperately needed a band. We happily said yes, and we played. After that he kept calling us back to play shows at hiesters. We also were getting shows other places like this one in kutztown but it sucked. I don't really know every show we played. Well later in time korey seemed to stop caring about the band. So we kicked him out of the band. Later he came and got his shit and it was a really sad time. Me and bryan both regreted kicking him out. Some time later we asked him to be back in it, but none of the problems were solved. He still didn't give a shit about the band. He would always find reasons to skip band practices. One week I didn't even tell him to come anymore(we had set days for practices). He came to none of them. That was just my clue to get rid of him. He wasn't practicing and me and bryan were advancing in our skill and he definitely was not. He just couldnt keep up. Plus not being friends doesn't help. Alright so it was christmas vacation and we hadn't talked in almost 2 weeks. I finally called him up and told him he was out, and I can't remember if he got pissed or just acted like he didnt care. Well that night I came home to find out the fmf site was raided by Dwayne, korey, arthur, and steve. And a few other people. All of my friends who supported us, now hated us. We started practicing with bobby leary, you know how everyone says, it just clicked, it didn't, and never ever does. So everyone should shut up when they say that. He had the same problem as korey, but this kid wanted it bad and he practiced his ass off every night. Slowly it started working out, but it was obvious people didn't like him being in the band. Everyone hated him and the band. Our music started evolving toward the end of Korey's Reign. No one liked the new style coming out, including dwayne. I respect his opinions a lot so this sucked. Especially since he was so into it and helped us record our demo. Well we played some shows with bobby and heard people calling out "Korey is fmf!""Korey is my favorite member!". I don't remember anymore. Then we played a show at hiesters again and mike radka said we got a lot better. Oh yeah this guy hated us so bad. I don't blame him though we sucked so bad and were so untight. We also were so iresponsible. Anyways people were starting to get a little more used to it. And we are basically were we are now. Our sound is much harder and we have a lot more energy. Also our friends like us again wahoo. And people think sucky(bobby) is cool. Korey went on his way too, he has a band called Ko2. Now we are at were we are at. Thanks for reading this long ass piece of pooh pooh. Have a nice day and check out when we have shows next.
