I've learned You

by Liz Laycak

Now I think I know you.

I've learned you, and like you.

Oh, we've laughed.

Downsides, of course. But, Upsides too.

And do those upsides joy me?

A happy place in my mind, I think,

Is where we'll be.

Will our residence in my mind

Go as far as the eyes can see?

But what if the eyes are blind?

Will we only be a spark

Among a million fleeting memories?

Grow spark, grow!

For we are all stardust and dreamstuff,

All amazing memories.

Please, give me ones I won't regret.

Surely, I won't forget

What it means to me, your presence.

So powerful, the size of your residence

In my mind.

So wide, so great

As long as we are not blind.

So long as fate is kind.
