Punktuation-What's the name of your band?
Me First and the Gimme Gimmes.
P-How long have you been together?
MF&GG-About five years.
P-Where do you reside, and do you like it there? and what place would you recommend to visit? you know, just in case we're by those parts traveling.
MF&GG-I live in NYC and I would recommend you check it out.
P-Who plays what in the band? And if for example you play drums, what other instrument would you like to learn to play, if any. ie. didjurydoo (totally spelt that wrong), harmonica, keyboards etc.
MF&GG-I'm Jackson and I play guitar. Fatty plays bass. Joey plays guitar too. Dave is on the drums. Spike is the singer.
P-What other projects have you been in? And are they different in any way from this one?
MF&GG-I used to be in No Use and now I'm in the Foo Fighters and, yes, they're both quite different from this band.
P-How would you describe your style of music to someone who's never heard of your band?
MF&GG-Drunken revelry.
P-If you could have one song on any movie soundtrack, what movie would that be, and what song would you pick and why?
MF&GG-Depends on the movie.
P-Also, from the movie you picked, what scene would you like your song to be in?
MF&GG-Any fight scene in West Side Story.
P-You've done some touring in the past; does touring affect your personal lives? For example, is it hard to keep a permanent job, or does it affect relationships. Or maybe it doesn't have any negative effects? We haven't toured, so we wouldn't know.
MF&GG-We haven't toured either so I don't have any comment on this one.
P-Is the scene different in each place you play and where would you say has one of the best scenes?
MF&GG-Montreal seems to have the biggest scene that I've ever experienced but I don't know which scene is the best.
P-What is the best feeling to you while playing a show?
MF&GG-Intoxication.
P-What albums have Me First & The Gimme Gimmes released, and of those, which is the band most happy with?
MF&GG-Have a Ball, Are a Drag and Blow in the Wind. I'm happiest with the new one.
P-Of all the oh so many bands out there, who are your influences?
MF&GG-Everything's an influence.
P-Who is your favorite Canadian band? It can be anyone! You name it! Bryan Adams, Chixdiggit!, Bif Naked, etc.
MF&GG-My other band played a show last May with Bryan Adams. It was cool.
P-What 4 bands (past/present) would you like to tour with most?
MF&GG-We don't care.
P-What SHOW would you like to play most? ie. CMJ festival in NYC, the Vans Warped Tour etc.
MF&GG-See above.
P-How does your band feel about Napster and MP3's?
MF&GG-Couldn't care less.
P-Are they a good or band thing? Yay or nay!
MF&GG-Good.
P-Aside from being in the band, and touring, and practicing, what do you boys do in your spare time? ie. skateboard, knit toques, bake cookies...
MF&GG-I try to get well. Live healthy.
P-Do you have any thing that'd you'd like to say or ask?
MF&GG-Nope.
P-Is that your final answer?
MF&GG-Yup.
