Punktuation-What is the name of your endeavor?
We are called Junction 18
P-Who are the rocketeers in the band?
J18-We have Mr. Andy Bristol on the vocals, the illustrious Chris Kelley on drums, big Scott Morganella on guitar, the duke of distortion Jeff Lavalee on the other guitar, and me Ryan "little-ass" Spencer on bass.
P-What part of the galaxy do you live in?
J18-The upper left part.
P-What style of noise would you say you guys fit into?
J18-I think we're somewhere between 2 Live Crew and Faith Hill, or melodic power-punk, yeah that works.
P-What got you guys interested in rocking out?
J18-Going to shows and seeing how much fun the bands were having on-stage and knowing they did it for a living.
P-Have any of you played with any other outfits?
J18-I once dressed up like a policeman, but other than that we usually wear jeans and t-shirts.
P-Who are each one of your favorite bands?
J18-I prefer Lifetime, Andy likes Failure, Scott enjoys Queen, Jeff cranks Foo Fighters, Chris is partial to ALL/Descendents
P-When you think of Canada, what comes to mind?
J18-Kids in the hall, Tom Green
P-What is it like being a part of the Fearless family?
J18-It's great, now we don't fear anything, we used to be really scared of lotsa stuff. But now we're on Fearless. That was a bad joke.
P-Would you say you are more like the Backstreet Boys, Kenny G, or Green Day?
J18-If you think about it, we're all of them put together.
P-Of all the songs you've written, what is the groups favorite?
J18-I believe our favorite is "We Want It All"
P-Who are your influences and why are they your influence?
J18-I'd have to say that bands like Weezer and ALL/Descendents have been 2 of the biggest because they rock hard and still maintain great melodies, and that's what we're all about.
P-What is the best show you ever played? And what was your worst show?
J18-The best show we ever played was at the middle east in Cambridge with NFG like 2 summers ago. The worst was at the state bingo championships.
P-How does it feel to have people come out and support your band?
J18-It feels all bubbly inside at first, then the bubbliness turns into a sort of fizziness, then a second later a sharp pain coarses through your stomach and your head spins and you get dizzy, soon after you are relieved that people like your band, it's a strange thing but you get used to it.
P-If you could play a show anywhere in the world, where would you play?
J18-I'd like to play at Axl Rose's house.
P-If life is a highway, would you wanna ride it all night long?
J18-Fuck yeah
P-Where do you see yourselves in ten years?
J18-I'll probably have some kind of TV show, I don't know about the rest of them though.
P-What kind of feedback have you received from your new album?
J18-Actually we have gotten almost all good reviews on it, that's relieving.
P-What is a dingo?
J18-A dingo is some kind of animal that lives in Australia.
P-Does Junction 18 support dingos?
J18-Yes, we've adopted 3.
P-What are some of your fondest memories from playing shows, or practicing?
J18-Well, once at practice we were in the middle of playing a song when right outside we heard a horrible crash and when we ran outside, a school bus had tipped over and the kids were trapped inside. When we saw this we were so overcome with emotion and adrenaline we picked up the school bus and saved the children.
P-What can we expect from you guys in the years to come?
J18-A few more albums, drug problems, car accidents, a comeback album, weight gain, failed solo projects, ventures into acting/directing, all that behind the music stuff.
P-Any final words of wisdom or knowledge to share?
J18-I only know about 3 or 4 things in life, but one of them is that Junction 18 rocks the house.
