"The Chinkees - Big World" from there cd "Peace through Music"
The Chinkees were created to play music that is both politically and musically driving. The main goal is to bring out awareness about racism in our everyday society.(and to make people happy with the music of course) Long before there was even a band, I recorded what was to become the CHINKEES ARE COMING with the band TUESDAY from Chicago. I've received some negative feedback from people who think that it's misleading that I have a picture of an all asian band, when in fact they did not play on the album. And I'm sorry if I offended anyone. That's the last thing I wanted to do. Basically, I had these songs written, so I asked TUESDAY if they would record with me. After recording, it was something I wanted to continue to do with a real band. Hence the CHINKEES were born. I hope that clears up the confusion. Currently, the CHINKEES have been rehearsing every Tuesday at 6:15 p.m., getting ready to tour the world. I hope that you're as excited as we are to bring you this music. Proceeds from the record are donated to various anti-racist
organizations. If you have an organization that you feel I should look into, please e-mail me with details. Thank you very much. PEACE AND UNITY! | |
