The Story of No Sink

No Sink
The Greatest Junk Rawk Band in the World

Hancock County, KY

No Sink... the greatest junk rawk band in the world. This band is made up by lead singer John Allen, guitarist Adam Chaffin, bassist Chris Napier, and drummer Keith "Pete" Pritchard. No Sink is a local band from Hancock County, Kentucky. John attends church at the Tell City Church of the Nazarene, Adam attends Chestnut Grove Baptist, and Pete and Napier both attend Hawesville Baptist. The band practices at Hawesville Baptist, and this is where they first performed live, at a youth event called RIOT (Radical Impact On Teens). Their second performance was at the Revelations Coffee House in Seymour, Indiana. That day they also made their first demo, composed of six tracks (three of which were actually serious).

No Sink is a band started in November of 1999. Singer John Allen and guitarist Adam Chaffin decided that that for their senior projects, they wanted to start a band. Both have been friends since sixth grade, and throughout high school have tried to start bands. The original line up for No Sink had a freshmen by the name of Jason French playing bass, and no real drummer. As time passed, Adam and John realized that playing with Jason wouldn't work out because of his obsession with playing nothing but Nirvana. Adam then aproached his good friend Chris, who played with the Hawesville Baptist praise band, and asked another friend named Jeremy "Dorothy" Corley to play drums. Unfortunately, as they started practicing for their first performance, they found that Dorothy might not be the best choice. They then messed around with two other drummers, Jason Bratcher, and then with Pete, who now fills the spot of drummer.

After two gigs and a small fan basis (consisting of four friends named Chris Craft, Jeremy "Dorothy" Corley, Grant Carpenter, and Wes Bernardi), No Sink fell apart. John and Adam both got jobs at a local amusement park and the band was left behind. Since, there has been only one reunion, minus John who had to work. The band quickly fell apart on their attempt at Dammit because of Adam's rushing and Pete's dragging. The only thing that was proven was that Nape had gotten better and could stay at one steady tempo.

Currently, Adam has currenly asked John to play bass in his new band, which he formed with his friend Dirk Thompson in Tell City. So far, a line up has been created, but practice has yet to begin. They will play the same type of Punk music as No Sink, but will lose the Christian image like those of bands such as MxPx and Ghotti Hook that No Sink tried to follow in.
