- Linux (Mandrake)
- I'm 'trying' to
learn Linux (have a dual-boot), it's an Awesome O.S. For
a person growing up on Windows, Linux (at first) seemed
like a foreign language...I'm getting a good feel for
Mandrake Linux (PowerPack 10.0)...I look forward to the
day when I can WIZ through cyber-space, using
Linux.....the day when there are NO walls...NO
restrictions....GNU all the way!!

a 'hobby' than an 'aspiration'..I've actually made a
Little money by selling comical pictures.

- I'm a Newborn
when it comes to DOS..... I was in elementary school when
Commadore 64's came out...I vaguely remember writing
those silly programs (fun!)...I had Nooooo idea that the
Commadore was to become a huge building block of
technology. My brother and I wrote small programs using
Basic. If I could only remember how to write those
programs!! (That was about 20 yrs ago)

buy mostly computer books, and study them when I'm away
from home and can't get online.

Hardware

Not my stregnth.....I want to work Internet Security
eventually....but we must all start out with
Hardware, and climb the latter from there....I'll have to
check into that again! I'm 'ok' when it comes to being
mechanically inclined....more than the 'average'
girl..but not nearly as inclined as some men. Men seems
to have a natural talent for this, which I'm jealous of!

- Learn Linux
(Mandrake)
- I recently did
my first Dual-Boot. I have Win XP Pro and added Linux
Mandrake PowerPack 10.0. I can surf the www using Linux,
and I'm trying get my speakers and printer installed on
Linux. I'm slightly sufficient at using a FreeShell
account, and I can install/run IS tools as well :) Fun

- Fix Printer
- I have a
'decent' HP printer and I'm trying to figure out why it
won't read my new print cartridge....I've used printers
sence they first came out (with the perferated edges) and
I've never-ever had this particular sort of printer
problem before. It's saying my cartridge isn't compatable
with my printer, but I'm 110% positive I have the correct
cartridge. ....As I said above, hardware is Not my
stong-point...If anybody knows the hardware mechanics of
a printer, send me an email!
