A Small Adult Inside a Smaller Child
Eric is twenty
He used to baby-sit me
We stayed up late and watched MTV
I wasn't allowed
That was the rule
My parents said it was for an older fool
I was only about six
We watched Chinese movies
I felt like an adult- pretty groovy
We stayed up really late
Watched Beavis and Butt-Head
If my parents saw me, Eric would be dead!
My parents didn't come home until one o'clock at night
We sat and ate popcorn
And waited for the come of morn'
Luckily we were upstairs and heard the beep
We knew our parents were home
It was time for battle zones
I ran to my room
Slipped under the covers
Pretended that in my head dreams did hover
My parents had fun while worrying
They were relieved to see that I was "asleep"
A new secret I had to keep
Now I always look forward to my parents going out
I like staying with Eric much more
Since he is in college, I am now sore
