A Field Research Survey conducted April 08, 2007 found that:

Out of 100 random Mount Prospect citizens, 87% said they felt that “recycling is an important issue in preserving the integrity of the village”,

48% of those same people also felt that “businesses in Mount Prospect that do not have a recycling program should have one even if it means being funded by the village.”

76% of people said “businesses are just as responsible for finding ways to protect the environment as citizens of the community.”

Out of 50 local business interviewed:

82% said that they “would like to have a recycling program paid for by the village.”

48% said that they felt that “a recycling program is necessary for businesses in Mount Prospect.”

20% said that it was “financially feasible for their stores to pay for their own recycling companies.”

And finally ONLY 20% of businesses that have a daily source of waste said they recycle!
