The battles over the Great Venture Belt, which lies between Hyperial and Quantar, have left the once glorious Hyperial system in a state of decay. However the war between Quantar and Hyperial is over, the hostilities between the factions remain enormous. In the Holy books of Hyperial, kept in the Main Library on Hypsos it says: “2 Sons born on the 3 month of the new year during a battle at Hyperial would rise up and lead the Hyperion people to greatness and prosperity.”
The Reconstruction Initiative was aware of this and when a strange birth giving on Hyperial Space Station occurred in the newspapers, TRI rushed to Hyperial with all their enforcers and took the 2 children away. Arriving at Quantar Core Station, the TRI-enforcers split up and took one child to Octavius and kept the other in Quantar space. The 2 children grew up in 2 separated families who were both connected to TRI in a certain way. The two children took on the names of Vanken and custardx and new nothing about what they were supposed to do, nothing about the prophecy and nothing about their real familiy.
After 15 uneventful years pilots custardx and vanken had earned their wings by completing TRI basic training and given an insurance rating. Unaware of their real past both pilots vanken and custardx joined a squad and set about trying to make a name for themselves. Although something didn’t feel right, something was missing, both pilots didn’t feel right doing their duties for squads that had no higher purpose than to make large amounts of cash. However both pilots noticed something, whenever they were in hyperial they felt like they were…..home.
After a year of profiteering and learning from the best, another year of doing nothing really worthwhile, custardx was waiting for a shipment of Det-Saw special brew to arrive by courier from the refinery in Outer Lighthouse. By sheer coincidence the cargo ship pilot was non-other than vanken, and the similarities between the two pilots were….remarkable at the least. Whilst unloading the cargo from vanken’s tow both pilots got to know each other and started to look into their past, as it seemed improbable that a Quantar born miner could be in anyway related to an Octavius born warrior. With both pilots parting ways they went to confront their parents with the new details about who they were. Under the constant questioning both sets of parents cracked and revealed their true identities as the two children who had a destiny so great, to save hyperial.
Sickened by the thought of TRI having removed them from hyperial so they couldn’t speak out against the oppression that TRI was about to unleash on the galaxy, with high taxes and economic strain, both pilots decided to join together and take up their birth right and form a pro-hyperial squad called Hyperion Inquisition. Although both pilots realised that much has changed since their birth, with Xyleth and band of followers currently protecting hyperial and would fight any claims to power, they had to try, they had to make TRI pay for separating them at birth…
