Saw action in 58 of the 59 games after signing with Utah on December 15, 2002, missing the February 19, 2003 vs. the Lakers due to a death in the family... Massenburg did a solid job in his only season with New Jersey, playing in 79 games and making 49 starts. He averaged 7.2 points and a career-high 6.5 rebounds in 24.7 minutes, ranking second on the team in rebounding among players who spent the full season with the Nets. ... Massenburg had 11 double-doubles on the year, grabbing a career-high 16 rebounds in a 101-91 loss at Milwaukee on Dec. 14. He matched his career-high with 26 points in a 123-105 victory over Philadelphia on March 26. ... He finished the year strong, posting double-doubles in six of his last 10 games and getting double-figures rebounds in nine of those last 10. ... Following the season, Massenburg signed with the Boston Celtics as a veteran free agent. It will be his second tour of duty with Boston.

1995-1996:
The well-traveled frontcourtman had a second consecutive solid season, splitting time between Toronto and Philadelphia and averaging career highs of 10.0 points and 6.5 rebounds in 27.1 minutes per game. ... He appeared in 24 games for the expansion Raptors, making 20 starts and averaging 10.1 points and 6.9 rebounds in 27.5 minutes per game. He grabbed a season-high 14 rebounds twice within a week, against Indiana on Jan. 16 and against Boston on Jan. 21. He was Toronto's leading rebounder and ranked fourth on the team in minutes played until he was packaged with Ed Pinckney and a draft pick and traded to the Sixers on Feb. 22 for forward Sharone Wright. ... As a Sixer, Massenburg solidified the frontcourt and averaged 9.9 points and 6.2 rebounds in 26.8 minutes per game, appearing in 30 games and starting eight. In five games from Feb. 25 to March 6, he had a season-high 26 points on 6-for-12 shooting at San Antonio on March 2, two double-doubles and averaged 18.2 points and 9.4 rebounds per game. ... Following the season, Massenburg signed with the Nets as a free agent.

1994-1995:
After three years in Europe, Massenburg found himself back in the NBA, where he put in a creditable season for the talent-thin Los Angeles Clippers. The team's starting small forward early in the year, he put up fine numbers in December, averaging 11.2 points and 8.1 rebounds in 31.2 minutes per contest. His output tailed off a bit during the rest of the season as he was used more often in a reserve role, but he was steady throughout. He finished the season ranked second on the team in rebounds (5.7 rpg), fifth in minutes (26.6 per game), and sixth in scoring (9.3 ppg). ... Massenburg turned in a number of fine performances. The Clippers opened the season with a pair of games in Japan, and he was the team's top rebounder in both contests. On November 29 he set a career high by pulling down 16 boards. On January 5 he played 33 minutes off the bench against the Philadelphia 76ers and contributed 18 points. On February 4 he went 7-for-10 from the field against the Los Angeles Lakers in a 20-point effort, and on April 8 he scored a career-high 26 points in an overtime win at Sacramento.

1993-1994:
Massenburg spent a second straight season in the Spanish League, this time with F. C. Barcelona. In 25 games he averaged 15.5 points and 7.9 rebounds and shot .570 from the floor.

1992-1993:
Massenburg went overseas for the 1992-93 season. Playing for Unicaja-Mayoral of the Spanish League, he averaged 15.4 points and 9.8 rebounds in 30 games.

1991-1992:
In 1991-92 Massenburg became one of only a handful of players in NBA history to play for four teams in a single season. He began the year with the San Antonio Spurs but was waived on December 2. Less than two weeks later the Charlotte Hornets signed him as a free agent. He spent a month with the Hornets before being waived on January 2. In the second half of the season he signed consecutive 10-day contracts with first the Boston Celtics and then the Golden State Warriors. ... Despite all of his travels Massenburg played in only 18 games, logging 90 total minutes and averaging 1.6 points and 1.4 rebounds.

1990-1991:
As a senior at the University of Maryland in 1989-90, Tony Massenburg was one of only two players in the Atlantic Coast Conference to average in double figures in both scoring (18.0 ppg) and rebounding (10.1 rpg). A 6-foot-9 forward, Massenburg shot .523 from the floor over his four collegiate seasons and compiled a career average of 12.1 points per game. ... The San Antonio Spurs selected him in the second round of the 1990 NBA Draft, then kept him on their bench for most of the season. He appeared in only 35 games as a rookie, averaging 2.3 points and 1.7 rebounds in 4.6 minutes per game. Massenburg finished the season strong, averaging 9.6 points over his last 10 games. He scored a career-high 19 points against the Dallas Mavericks on April 21.

COLLEGE:
The MVP for the Maryland Terrapins after scoring 18.0 points and grabbing 10.1 rebounds per game in his senior year, he was named to the 1990 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Second Team.
