Naythan Andrew Brooks in Music

Naythan Brooks began his studies in music at the age of four with his family. His mother and father both being working musicians has much to do with his learning music. He attended piano lessons with Lauren Lang and church band/choir with his parents until the age of nine. Also attended violin lessons with Ron Houston and Tamash Volarik. During middle school played french horn and violin in band and symphony. At age 13 his father and uncle started teaching him jazz, classical and rock guitar following the styles of Wes Montgomery, George Harrison and Jimi Hendrix. Later he adopted the styles of Dimebag Darrel, Adam Jones, Gurgg and Jerry Cantrell. Naythan Brooks has performed at Travis Avenue Baptist Church, Christ Chapel Baptist Church, The Black Dog Tavern, Ridglea Theater, Dreamworld/Pheonix Music Complex, Lone Star Country Club, The Door in Dallas, The Curtain Club, University of North Texas Performance Hall and the University of Arlington Performance Hall. His Influences for bass follow the diverse styles of Ryan Martine, Trevor Ray Dunn, Justin Chancellor, Les Claypool and George Anderson. He uses Tradition Guitars and Basses accompanied by Peavey and Gallien-Krueger Amplification with Aphex and Carvin Signal processing.
