Match Type

Match Description

1st Blood

First person that bleeds loses.

2 Out Of 3 Falls

First person to score 2 pinfalls or submissions wins.

Fatal Fourway (Four Corners)

First person to score the first pin or submission wins.

Ambulance Match

Throw your opponent into the back of an ambulance then close the door wins.

Bar Room Brawl

Hardcore match that starts in a Bar.

Barbedwire Cage Match

Cage wrapped in barbedwire.

Barbedwire Rope Match

Ropes are replaced with barbedwire.

Barnyard Brawl

Two men enter a barn filled with weapons and the only way to win is to escape the barn.

Battle Of Respect Match

Two men fight until the bell time expires. There is no pinfalls or submissions or victories in this match.

Battle Royal

Throw your opponent over the top rope, last man standing is the winner. There can also be Tag Team Battle Royals, where if one member of a tag team is eliminated, the whole team is eliminated.

Bed Of "..." Deathmatch

There are many different variations of this match. There are bed of nails, bed of thumbtacks, bed of light bulbs, bed of broken glass, bed of barb wire and bed of razor wire only to name a few. It’s legal the bed as a weapon is legal, but you need to put your opponent through the bed or break the bed over them in order to win the match.

Bikini Match

Women only, judges vote for winner.

Blood Bath Match

Dump a bowl of red liquid over opponent to win.

Boiler Room Brawl

No rules, first person to get out of the boiler room wins.

Bra And Panties (Evening Gown)

Women only, strip your opponent down to her bra and panties or evening gown to win.

Broken Glass Taped Fists (Tai Pai) Deathmatch

The fighters wraps there hands in tape, rolls them in glue and then rolls there hands in broken glass. The first person not to respond to the 10 count loses. Not for the weak hearted.

Buried Alive

First person to bury their opponent in the provided hole wins.

Cage match

This match takes place inside a 15' steel cage with an open top. There are two types of cage matches. The traditional cage match is won by being the first wrestler to escape the cage and have both feet touch the floor. The other variation is basically a One fall match inside a cage.

Caged Inferno Masacre match

Triple cage match, with weapons in every cage, with Tables ladders and chairs in the bottom cage, with the ring set on fire, the second cage is your basic weapons, and the third cage has handcuffs and chains also the third cage is lined with barbwire, it usually has a title above the third cage.

Caged Inferno Masacre Royal Rumble match

Triple cage match, with weapons in every cage, with Tables ladders and chairs in the bottom cage, with the ring set on fire, the second cage is your basic weapons, and the third cage has handcuffs and chains also the third cage is lined with barbwire, it usually has a title above the third cage. The rules are simple four men start in the ring, every 60 seconds, a new wrestler comes in, untill the locker room is empty.

Casket match

First person to be put in a casket and have the top closed loses.

Chain Match (Variations: Strap, Collar Match)

A match that ends with a pinfall or the winner is the wrestler who touches all four turnbuckles a row. Before the match opponents are strapped with handcuffs or collars.

Chair Shot Roulette Match

Opponents stand face to face armed with a chair, they take it in turns to take a chair shot, the last man standing wins.

Clockwork Orange House Of Fun
There are four steel poles on each turnbuckle and chains hooking them together. Weapons such as chairs, garbage cans, and any other weapon you can think of hang from the chains. Also one side of the ring is one part of a cage. The winner has to toss his opponent off some high place into six tables stacked two on two on two.

Coal Miners Glove Match

Two men fight to gain control of the coal miners glove which is on a pole on the turnbuckle and can use it as much as they like until they gain a pinfall.

Death Match

Some Sort Of Mix Of Standart And Last Man Standing Matches. After The Pin, The Wrestler Has To Stay Down For 10 Seconds To Win.

Dog Collar Match

Two men are hooked together by a dog collar and the only way to win is by pinfall.

Double Tables

Two men enter a cage where there is a table hooked to each side of the cage. The only way to win is put your opponent through two tables.

Dumpster Match

First person to lock their opponent in a dumpster wins.

Elimination Match

Team Or Multiple Wrestler Match. The Rules Differ Depending On A Match. In Multimple Wrestler Match The Person That Gets Pinned Leaves The Ring; The Others Continue To Wrestle. In A Multiple Team Match The Team Which Member Is Pinned Leaves The Ring. The Exclusion Is Two Team Match, For Example, WWF's Infamous Survivor Series (4-on-4) - There Wrestlers Are Eliminated One By One.

Empty Arena

Wrestlers fight in an empty arena with no fans.

Evening Gown Pool Match

Same as a Bra and Panties match except takes place in a pool filled with something.

Falls Count Anywhere

Pins or submissions anywhere.

Fatal Four-Way

First person to score a pinfall/submission wins. Elimination rules may apply.

Flaming Table

Put your opponent through a flaming table to win.

Gauntlet

A wrestler (or tag team) has to face several wrestlers, one on one, until all of them are eliminated. If the wrestler is 'running the gauntlet', and is eliminated by another person, he loses.

Gauntlet Cage Match

There are four rings each covered with a steel cage. Two men enter each cage and fight it out. The four survivors of those four cages are put into two of the cages, giving us two more one-on-one battles. The winners of those battle will go into one cage to decide who will be Gauntlet Champion. The only way to win is pinfall or submission.

Gauntlet of Hell

A wrestler (or tag team) has to face several wrestlers, one on one, until all of them are eliminated. If the wrestler is 'running the gauntlet', and is eliminated by another person, he loses, in various types of matches, such as table, ladder, chairs, TLC, and inferno match

Glass House
The ring ropes are replaced by 4 Panes of 3" glass, the last man to go through a pane of glass loses.
Glass Pane Death Match
The ring is surrounded by barbed wire and glass, all sorts of weapons are inside the enclosure, but the kicker is the glass is set on fire. The only way to win, is for your opponent to stay down for the ten count.

Glass Table

Put your opponent through a table thats covered in glass.

Glass Rod
Just like a Kendo Stick match but solid glass rods are used.
Grave Yard Brawl
Eight man Buried Alive/Hardcore match, that takes place in a real graveyard. Seven graves will be dug up and you have to be the last one unburied to wins.

Handcuff Match

Handcuff opponent to win.

Hardcore/Extreme

Must force your opponent to submit or pin them. You can use any weapon you want, anything goes.

Hell In A Cell

Defeat your opponent in a twenty foot high cage (with a roof) via pinfall or submission. Cage surrounds the ring.

Hell In A Cell Ladder Match

Two men fight for a belt hanging at the top of the cell and the only way the match ends is when somebody gains possession of the belt.

Hell Ontop Of A cell

Fight on top of a cell, if you fall you have 10 seconds to get back onto the roof of the cell.

I Quit Match

Make your opponent say "I Quit" to win.

Inferno Match

Fire surrounding the ring, first person to be set on fire loses.

Intergender Tag Match

A standart Tag Team match, but one member of each team is definitely a woman

Iron Man Match

A specified time (Usually, an hour) match. The wrestler, who pins, and/or submissions at the end, Interferences/DQs add points to opponent's score his opponent most times wins.

Junkyard Scrap

You are taken to fight inside a junkyard. To win you must escape the junkyard.

Ladder Match

Wrestler has to climb to the top and get the belt or money to win.

Last Man Standing Match

Match goes until one person stands down for a 10 count.

Lions Den

Wrestlers fight in the Lions Den (UFC Octagon Cage). Opponent must submit for wrestler to win.

Lumberjack Match

A standard match with people who surround the ring. The wrestler, who falls over the top gets a beating from them.

Mud Match

Female wrestling match, that takes place in the mud pool.

No Holds Barred

No rules.

One On One

Standard match, winner may win via DQ, count-out, pinfall or submission.

Pool (Gravy Bowl, Mud, Eggnog, etc.)

Women only, pin your opponent in a pool filled with water (gravy, mud, eggnog, jello, whatever) to win.

Prison Match

The Prison is a match that takes place in cage/Cell in the corner of the cell are a pair of handcuffs. Each opponent enters the ring carrying a PR-24 (A nightstick) which they can use during the match. The winner is the first man to handcuff his opponent to the cell.

Pyramid Cage Match
A cage match in which the cage is shaped like a four sided pyramid. A title is hung at the top...Only way to win is to find a way to the top of the pyramid. Usually a ladder is used in this match.

Rage in a Cage Match

Hardcore match. A cage with a roof encases the ring. The cage is not connected to the ring apron, but extends several feet beyond the edges of the ring and touches the concrete floor. Winner is the first person to get a pin or submission.

Retirement Match

Two men fight until they gain a pinfall victory over there opponents and the loser retires. Both parties must agree to this match.

Royal Rumble Battle

Royal Rumble, except when four men remains the Rumble is over. A referee will enter the ring and the match will turn into a four way elimination match. The winner is the person to make the final pinfall.

Royal Rumble

Consists of anywhere between 20-30 men. Two men start off and after five minutes the count down begins and a new competitor comes out. From then on, every 1-3 minutes a new person will come down to the ring. It's over the top rope elimination so the last man inside of the ring wins.

Scaffold Match

Fight on the catwalks until one person falls off.

Singapore Cane/Kendo Stick

Both wrestlers enters the ring carrying singapore canes/kendo sticks. In the match, you can whack your opponent with the cane all you want. Pinfall only.

Something On A Pole Match

There is a pole on one of the corner turnbuckles, with some object hanging on it. The first person to get that thing, wins the match.

Southside Scuffle

Two men are taken to a back alley somewhere and both ends are blocked off with wreslters so the only way to win is pinfall.

Stairway To Hell

A ladder match but instead of a title hanging above the ring, there are barb wire. First man to get the barb wire can use it on his opponent. Submission only.

Submission Match

Win by submission only.

Suicide Death Match

This match will be a TKO match and there is no Pins, no Submissionss, no Interference/Saves, no DQ, no Countout The first one that gets KO'ed loses, and in the ring are various weapons.(In this match, someone WILL get hurt.)

Table match

Put opponent through a table to win.

Tag Team Match

A match in which two teams of wrestlers face each other. Only one wrestler from each team is allowed in the ring at a time. The other(s) wait on the apron outside the ropes. Interference from a team member will not end the match in a disqualification. That wrestler will be escorted back to his/her corner.

Tag Team Cage

This match takes place inside a 15' steel cage with an open top. There are two types of cage matches. The traditional cage match is won by being both team members to escape the cage and have both feet touch the floor. The other variation is basically a One fall match inside a cage.

Tag Team Ladder

First person that climbs then ladder and gets the belt or money wins match for his team.

Texas Bullrope Match

The Texas Bullrope match originated in Texas during the 60's and was very popular through out the 70's and 80's. Basically the two opponents are tied wrist to wrist to a eight foot long Texas Bullrope with a brass cowbell in the center of the rope. The winner is the first man to touch or tag the four corners in succession with his hand. There are no DQ's, submissions or pinfalls.

Thumbtacks Ladder Match

Thumbtacks are covering the ring. In the middle of the ring, there is a ladder. First one to climb the ladder and get whatever is hanging above it, wins. This is a more extreme version of the traditional ladder match.

TLC

Tables,Ladders,Chairs match - Hardcore 3 Tag Teams Match, first person to get the belt hanging above the ring wins.

Triad Chain Match

Three Wrestlers are connected by a chain at the wrist which all three chains are conected to a pole in the center of the ring. Hardcore rules apply. The first wrestler to secure the pinall or submission wins.

Triple Cage

Wrestler must climb to the top of three cages stacked on top of each other to win the match (and/or the belt).

Triple Threat Theatre

Rules: The World Champion will face 3 men in 3 different matches.

Three Strike Match

The idea for this match is to get three victorys in a specific order; Pinfall, submission and knock out. First guy to get all those done, wins. Often done in a Street Fight fashioned match.

Triple Threat Match

one fall match where three wrestlers fight instead of two. The winner of this match is the first wrestler to get a pin fall or submission. What happens in the case of a disqualification is not clear (I've never seen it happen).

Turmoil

Multiple wrestler (Tag Team) match. But there can not be more than two wrestlers (teams) in the ring at a time. They enter the ring one by one, until they are eliminated.

Ultimate X
Title hung in the middle of the ring on an "X" formed by cable's strung between 15 foot high poles (actually scaffolding) in each corner of the ring. The first person to grab the belt will be the champion.
War Games
Two rings are encased in a "Rage in the Cage" cage. Two teams of 3 wrestlers enter the ring at timed intervals. The first team member to have an opponent submit or pinned loses and the winner goes on to fast world champ at the next PPV. The wrestlers enter one by one in certain periods of time.

Zia Beh Deathmatch

This match is banned all over the world but underground Japanese federations use this match alot. It is ten matches rolled into one. It can be any matches yet mostly have in it...Glass Table, Flaming Table, C4, TCL, First Blood, Inferno, Bed of Nails, Iron Man, and Last Man Standing matches.
