The Nestle company began in 1866 when Henri Nestle, a pharmacist developed an alternative source of nutrition for infants. It was created with a combination of cow's milk, wheat flour and sugar. Its purpose was to replace breast milk if the mother was unable to breast fed her child (either due to inability to produce milk or time restraints).Over time, Nestle developed in an international success with products ranging from coffee to microwaveable dinners.
