WHAT IS REIKI? Most practitioners agree that it is a form of life/healing energy. The word itself can be broken down into the component parts of "Rei" (pronounced 'ray') and "Ki" (pronounced 'key'). "Rei" literally means spirit, ghost, soul, in the heavens or of spirits; but also denotes universal energy. "Ki" also means spirit and, some argue, is essentially the Japanese equivalent of the Chinese description of "Chi", which means life force energy. The word Reiki, therefore, can be taken to refer to a balanced universal life force energy. Reiki is comprised of some of the frequencies that are know as God, Jesus, Krishna, Buddha, Prana, Love, Joy etc...This energy is present in everything in the universe, both animate and inanimate. Because of its qualities it seems to have a basic consciousness which, when used for healing, is able to provide exactly what is needed on all levels." Reiki attunements are what one receives from a Reiki Master. The Reiki Master is channelling/passing Reiki frequencies/energy into the initiates aura/spiritual body so they can directly benefit from Reiki themselves at whatever level the Master Reiki teacher has attuned them to. The Reiki Master can then lock these frequencies into their aura. This process opens the crown, heart, and palm chakras to receive the ability to channel Reiki. The Reiki attunement can start a cleansing process that affects the physical body as well as the mind and emotions. Toxins that have been stored in the body may be released along with feelings and thought patterns that are no longer useful. Once you have received a Reiki attunement, you will have that frequency/level of Reiki for the rest of your life.
HOW REIKI HEALS We are alive because life force is flowing through us. Life force flows within the physical body and it also flows around us in a field of energy called the aura. Life force nourishes the organs and cells of the body, supporting them in their vital functions. When this flow of life force is disrupted, it causes diminished function in one or more of the organs and tissues of the physical body. The life force is responsive to thoughts and feelings. It becomes disrupted when we accept, either consciously or unconsciously, negative thoughts or feelings about ourselves. These negative thoughts and feelings attach themselves to the energy field and cause a disruption in the flow of life force. This diminishes the vital function of the organs and cells of the physical body. Reiki heals by flowing through the affected parts of the energy field and charging them with positive energy. It raises the vibratory level of the energy field in and around the physical body where the negative thoughts and feelings are attached. This causes the negative energy to break up and fall away. Reiki clears, straightens and heals the energy pathways, allowing the life force to flow in a healthy and natural way.
DISTANCE ATTUNEMENTS For all this to work the initiate does not need to be physically in the presence of the Reiki Master, thus these attunements can be given via Distant Attunements/Healing, just as yours will be. The most important thing the client must have is the INTENT to receive the attunement, just as the Master has the INTENT to send it. All the sender needs to know is your name, the area you live in, and what time you have requested to receive it. This energy knows no concept of Time or Space in the Local or Non-Local Universe. It makes no difference if the initiate is in the presence of the Master, or on the opposite side of the planet. The beauty of all this is that the Sender has very little ego involved in the Sending. He or she knows they are just a channel for this energy to flow through temporarily, and that it is the Energy that is doing all the work…
TO PREPARE FOR AN ATTUNEMENT I recommend abstaining from alcohol, caffeine, red meats, and tobacco products the day before and the day after a scheduled attunement. You may feel some unusual sensations like tingling/goose-flesh in certain areas of your body, or hot/cold hands or feet. This is nothing to fear, just relax and enjoy the energy flow...The attunement should last twenty-five minutes. After that just go about your business as usual. Attunements and healing treatments sometimes cause physical detoxification, some people report a lot of emotional prossessing for up to 21 days after an attunment. Anyone receiving Reiki healings or attunements is encouraged to drink lots of water, and should be reminded that in some cases the release of toxins or eneregetic or physical realignments will cause them to feel worse for a small time before they feel better.
