Catalogue Updates / New Additions - all categories

Last update: 4 November 2009

This page lists all recent acquisitions, with the most recent items listed first.

Items in yellow haven't been entered in the main catalogue pages yet
and cover scans for these may not be available yet.

Most things will stay on this page for 6 months approx. As each item is added
to the main catalogue, it changes from yellow to white on this page, before
being removed at the 6 month mark. It's a very simple system which I hope
I've made clear!

November 2009 Big John's Rock'N'Roll Circus - s/t (DJM, UK 1974) €15 Bojoura - The Beauty of Bojoura LP (CBS, NL 1970) €10 Chronicle - Two Sides of Chronicle LP (private SRTX 78 CUS 251, UK 1978) EX/EX €10 English electric folk, private pressing. Seems to be common, so I've priced this cheap. Nice copy. Shirley Collins - Amaranth LP (Harvest Heritage SHSM 2008, UK 1969-76/1977) promo sticker on label; 2xsoc EX-/EX €25 Both soc removeable. Julie Driscoll - 1969 LP (Polydor 2383 077, Canada 1972) co rw EX-/EX- €9 Fini Tribe - Grossing 10K LP (One Little Indian TPLP 24, UK 1989) inner EX/EX €7,50 I have no idea what this is. Girl - Sheer Greed LP (Jet Records JET LP224, NL 1980) +inner sleeve EX/EX €9 Ipi-Tombi - Original South African Cast 2xLP (Satbel, South Africa 1975) foc €15 Jonathan Kelly - Two Days In Winter LP (RCA Victor SF 8415, UK 1975) EX-/EX €20 Lifetones - For A Reason LP (Tone of Life LTM 001, UK 1983) EX/EX €35 Mayday - Anything Else LP (Straud Records 6.23789, Germany 1979) +inner EX/EX €9 tasteless cover artwork alert! Melody Massacre - s/t EP 12" (Soundworks, Belgium 1986) €15 Bill Nelson - Northern Dream LP (Butt Records BUTT 002, UK 1971/1979) mono EX/EX €14,50 Mary Margaret O'Hara - Miss America LP (Virgin V 2559, Germany 1988) +inner M-/M- €9 v/a - Loreley '83 2xLP (Ariola Records 302 231-000, Germany 1983) foc ding in spine; promo only €15 Promo only German double LP with one side of U2 Golden Earring - Radar Love/The Song Is Over 7" (Polydor 2050 262, Belgium 1973) (PS) EX/EX €5 Les Variations - Only You Know (And I Know)/I Was Down 7" (EMI Pathe 2c-006-11882, France 1972) (PS) swobc EX/EX €3 Les Variations - Silver Girl/Walk Right Down 7" (EMI-Pathe 2c 006-12671, France 1973) (PS) EX/EX €3 Lethe - s/t LP (MMP 10781, NL 1981) EX/EX €99 Dutch progressive rock private pressing rarity, same band as Mirror (who released "DaybreaK" in the previous decade). Incredibly difficult to find, the first I've had in years. Nice copy. Thomas Flinter - s/t LP (Munich BM 150222, NL 1978) EX(-)/EX €119 Found same place as Lethe above. Arguably more mainstream than Lethe but just as obscure and just as hard to find, though I've had copies in the past as they were a local band. First of two albums. Dreadful front cover artwork adds to it's charm. Top notch euro prog private press. Z-Pasta - s/t LP (Good Noise VGNS 2015, Germany 1983) VG+/EX €25 I've always rated this LP very highly: drums, electronics, clipped guitar, mannered vocals, occasionally a challenge to listen to, and random amelodic trumpet. Some cold wave moves, some driving electro-disco. A classic of its kind. Cover has some brown staining along the opening, somewhat similar to the results of dried out selotape, though there is no residue or stickiness, the cover is smooth and unmarked. Its just turned slight brown. Sun damage? Nicotine? I dunno, but I've graded it VG+ to be safe. October 2009 Ekseption - s/t (1st) LP (Philips UBY 873003, NL 1969) flipback PS, slight spotting on bc, EX/EX €10 First and best album (though 2 is worth picking up aswell). A very common LP in Holland but usually well worn. This copy is nice. Rogier Van Otterloo - Visions (CBS, NL 1974) EX/EX €10 Not the kind of thing I normally have, because I know next to nothing about this scene but I know some people go mad for this kind of thing, and this LP in particular is sought after. Louis Van Dijk - Plays Lennon-McCartney LP (CBS 63946, NL 1970) EX-/EX- €5 Again, not my area, I usually climb over this kind of record trying to find rockabilly discs or rare metal; Pop Jazz versions of Beatles tunes played by Louis Van Dijk (organ) who recorded with Thijs van Leer and the Focus bunch and Rogier Van Otterloo. Can - Soundtracks LP (Spoon Records 005, Germany 1970/1989) M-/M- €25 Perfect copy of the second album on the bands own Spoon label. The Fall - Totale's Turns (It's Now Or Never) LP (Go International/Base Records GI LP 10, Italy 1980) M-/M- €20 Perfect copy of this classic early Fall album. Note this is the original Go/Base issue, not a repress. Feedtime - s/t (1st) LP (Aberrant/Megadisc Records MD7913, Holland 1985) w/insert EX/EX €20 Nice issue of the first Feedtime LP, licensed for release in Holland circa 1987 on ill-fated indie label Megadisc. After a tiny self-released edition and a barely larger Aberrant repress, this was the first Euro issue of this LP. Feedtime - Shovel LP (Aberrant/Megadisc MD 9712, Holland 1986) foc EX/EX €15 Second LP, dutch original from 1987 or 1988. Feedtime - Cooper S LP (Aberrant/Megadisc MD7911, Holland 1988) M-/M- €20 Like new copy of the third album. Feedtime - Suction LP (Decoy Records DYL 5, Uk 1989) +inner M-/M- €20 Final album - or so we thought. Like new copy. By far the best pressing of this LP IMO. Friends of Betty - Blind Faith II LP (Underdog/Wetspots UDUK2, UK 1988) +insert M-/M- €15 Beautiful like new copy. Late 80s Chicago band no-one remembers... Peel played a couple of tracks which is how I came to own it. I have the US pressing too, so I'm selling this one. Green Magnet School - Blood Music LP (Sub Pop SP 34/191, Germany 1991) WLTP w/info-sheet M- €12 Great band lost in the post grunge deluge.. this was their first LP, a second CD only album followed on Sonic Bubblegum in 1993 called "Revisionist" which is also worth finding. King Snake Roost - Things That Play Themselves LP (Aberrant/Megadisc MD7906, Holland 1988) +inner EX/EX €20 Another Australian 80s underground gem on Megadisc. Second album.. you cannot go wrong with Aberrant Records. Loop - The Catalogue #65 7" flexi (The Catalogue CAT 065, UK 1988) no PS issued EX €5 Public Image Ltd - First Issue LP (Virgin Records OVED 160, 1978) M-/M- €15 Second issue of this classic album, far far better than the Sex Pistols ever were. Rapeman - Two Nuns And A Pack Mule LP (Torso 33087, Holland 1988) +inner coh M-/M- €20 Not sure why this is a cut out (Torso didnt do cutouts), perhaps it was sent out as a promo copy though there are no extra inserts. v/a - The Catalogue #65 7" flexi (The Catalogue CAT 065, UK 1988) no PS issued EX €5 With Loop on the flexi. No zine, sorry. v/a - Lieber Zuviel Als Zuwenig (Zickzack Sommerhits 81) LP (ZickZack Records ZZ 45, Germany) soc EX/EX €25 fantastic post punk compilation with the creme of NDW: Abwarts, Aus Lauter Liebe, Die Todliche Doris, Andreas Dorau (Der Plan), Einsturzende Neubauten, Falsche Fahnen, Freiwillige Selbstkontrolle (FSK), Front, Andy Giorbino, Kosmonautentraum, Nachdenkliche Wehrpflichtige, Palasi Schaumburg, Die Radierer, Saal 2, Villeichtors, Wirtschaftswunder, X-Mal Deutschland, und Die Zimmermanner September 2009 The Doors - The Soft Parade LP (Elektra Records EKS-75005, NL 1969) black label first press foc EX/Ex SOLD(€15) Third album. Nice original copy. Japan - Adolescent Sex LP (Hansa 26 091 OT, NL 1978) EX/EX €9 Dutch issue with glossy cover. Japan's pre-synth period is very under-rated, even if it is restricted to this LP and parts of the second. Despite the espoused New York Dolls influence, this is an artefact of Bowie, Roxy Music and the punk roots of glam. The Dolls were an influence visually only. You can also draw a dry/white funk line from this LO to the first Happy Mondays LP. If you like early Ultravox, you'll love this. Fantastic pressing. v/a - Wappelpee LP (Wap Records none, NL 1980) insert woc ew vg+/ex €20 Dutch local band compilation, first of two volumes. July/August 2009 St.Vitus - Heavier Than Thou 2xLP (SST Records SST 266, USA 1990) w/bio sheets co EX/M- €90 Fantastic promo copy with press pack. Saint Vitus on SST becoming harder and harder to find. Albania - Are You All Mine LP (Chiswick CWK 3016, UK 1981) +inner; design label EX/M- €19 Bizarre/unique post punk/new wave album. Apples in Winter - s/t LP (Onyx 21243, USA 1975) rw/tss EX-/EX SOLD(€70) Bagatelle - s/t (1st) LP (Polydor 2904 015, IRL 1980) EX/EX €20 Late 70s Irish rock band reminiscent of Bob Seger/Springsteen/The Band and bands of that type. The Doors - s/t (1st) LP (Elektra 42012 (EKS 74 007), Germany 1967/197?) EX/EX €25 Undated but undoubtedly an early 1970s issue (butterfly Elektra label, fully laminated cover). front back Geraldine - s/t LP (Beltona SBE 128, UK 1971) EX+/EX+ SOLD(€85) Henry Cow - Unrest LP (Virgin V2011, UK 1974) foc EX/EX SOLD(€25) Nice copy. King Crimson - Larks' Tongues In Aspic LP (Polydor 2344 072, Germany 1973) w/insert EX+/EX+ €25 German orig. King Crimson - Red LP (Island 88 345 IT, NL 1974) palm label EX+/EX+ €25 dutch orig. Mariza Koch - Arabas LP (Minos MSM 139, Greece 1972) EX/EX €75 Top class Greek acid folk/psych reminiscent of Jefferson Airplane at times. Nice copy. New Trolls - Concerto Grosso LP (Zafiro ZL-136, Spain 1972/1977) foc EX/EX €20 Spanish issue from 1977. Them - Them Again LP (Parrot PAS 71008, USA 1966) scoh EX(-)/EX €29 US original, small coh, slight discoloration bc. Bought by me as NM/NM from a well-known German dealer.. sigh. What a moron! I'm still on the lookout for a mint/sealed or NM USA original. Magazine - Real Life LP (Virgin OVED 62, UK 1978/198?) M-/M- €10 Mid-80s 2nd press. Magazine - The Correct Use of Soap LP (Virgin OVED 116, UK 1980/198?) M-/M- €10 Mid-80s 2nd press. The Stranglers - Black and White LP+7" (United Artists UAK 30222, UK 1978) w/inner M-/M- €25 Beautiful copy, includes 45 free with first pressing. v/a - Vinyl Verdict LP (Scoff Records DTLP006, IRL 1981) EX/EX €40 Excellent Irish punk/post punk/new wave compilation with The Shy, The End (pre Something Happens), The Rhythm Kings, Nigel Hamilton (of The Tearjerkers), Know Authority (pre Kissed Air), Contact, Deke O'Brien (of Bluesville, Bees Make Honey, etc), The Departure, The Fuze, The Teen Commandments (with The Edge of U2), Logic and The Posers. Collects singles and album tracks incl "Little Green Bag" and "Ann". Billy Cobham - Spectrum LP (Atlantic ATL 40506 (SD7268), Germany 1973) foc EX/EX €15 With Tommy Bolin in fantastic form. A great LP. Chris De Burgh - Far Beyond These Castle Walls...LP (A&M Records AMNP112, NL 70s) w/inner M-/M- €10 Undated dutch issue (through CBS) of the 1975 debut LP. Flavium - Fleviem LP (Ivory Tower ELF 25.36, NL 1978) corner crease EX/EX €10 Third album, fantastic bluesrock band but boy did they keep making the same album. Great solos throughout. The dutch Savoy Brown (or perhaps that should be Foghat). Heating - A Ballad For The Lord LP (Philips 855 845 XPY, NL 1968) EX/EX €25 Longhairs with guitars and bongos do a "beat mass". Some people rate this LP. The Nice - Autumn Spring LP (Charisma CAS 1, USA 1967-68/1973) rw co EX-/EX €10 Nice cheaper issue of the debut album (well, most of it) plus a non-LP single (both sides) and a previously unreleased version of a track that turned up on the 2nd LP. The Nice really haven't had their due over the years. Offenbach - Traversion LP (Kebec-disc KDL 6493, France 1978) foc EX/EX €25 I'm afraid I know nothing about this Canadian band, but this is a french press thru RCA. Tough to find. Q65 - Greatest Hits LP (Decca 6454 409, NL 1971) woc ew(tape residue) VG+/EX- €27.50 Original pressing of this fantastic collection spanning 1966-69. v/a - Michigan Rocks LP (Seeds & Stems Records 77001, USA 1977) foc EX/EX €15 Excellent Detroit compilation with the MC5, Stooges, SRC, Amboy Dukes, Mitch Ryder, etc. AC/DC - Whote Lotta Rosie/Dog Eat Dog 7" (Atlantic ATL 10.992, NL 1977) (PS) EX/EX €10 Country Farm - Please Come Home/Texas Johnny 7" (Negram NG 282, NL 1972) (PS) woc ew VG++/EX € 4 Wombats - Mudpuddles LP (Homestead HMS034, UK 1986) EX/EX €10 Excellent mid-80s garage rock that was deleted pretty quickly and is one of the harder to find Homestead titles. Six Finger Satellite - The Pigeon Is The Most Popular Bird CD (Sub Pop SP CD 96/268, Germany 1993) EX/M- €9 Hear both 10inches as one complete album. May 2009 David Bowie - Low LP (RCA PL 12030, UK 1977) original, tracklist sticker on back cover ex/ex €25 nice UK original, essential LP Home - Pause for a Hoarse Horse LP (CBS 64356, NL 1971) EX/EX €25 dutch press in laminated gatefold sleeve, orange CBS label Asiko - Take A Trip With LP (Gorrilla GRL 120001, Germany 197?) EX/EX €200 Ultra rare Afro jazzy rock/funk rarity recorded in Germany in the 1970s. And that's really all I know about it. A solid EX/EX copy. Blue Ash - No More, No Less LP (Mercury Records SRM-1-666, USA 1973) EX/EX €45 Nice, clean non-cutout copy of an album thats now considered an early powerpop classic. It matches Who-like powerchords and energy levels with Byrds or Hollies vocal harmonies. It's at it's best IMO when The Who influence takes over and pushes the band into a harder direction than, say, contemporary powerpop bands like the Raspberries or Badfinger, but I say this as someone who is not a big Beatles fan. Getting very hard to find in good condition. Dave Edmunds - Repeat When Necessary LP (Swan Song SSK 53409, USA 1979) +inner EX/EX €10 Nice clean copy. Eric Kelly - Two Good Reasons LP (Kellysongs KS 8401, NL 1984) foc M-/M- €39 Dutch electro funky boogie, self-released, very hard to find. Massada - Pukul Tifa LP (Kendari Records KDR 21010 KL, NL 1979) +booklet EX/EX €25 dutch latin/afro jazz sounds, Massasa made 3-4 elpees in 70s which are getting hard to find in good nick. Never really got into them myself. Smudge on cover (top centre) is removeable, I just didnt get a chance to do it before taking this photo. Sensational Alex Harvey Band (Without Alex) - Fourplay LP (Vertigo 6370 421, NL) insert EX-/EX- €9 Great album though it suffers some mid 70s confusion at times. And what a great drummer. Bobby Whitlock - Rock Your Sox Off LP (Capricorn CP 0168, USA 1976) coh M-/M- €19 Rock, blues & soul. Nothing pn Whitlock's solo albums matches his time with Derek & The Dominoes but it's good stuff and mines similar territory. Fantastic cover artwork. v/a - Our Best To You LP (Imperial 5c 050-24904, NL 1973) EX/EX €8 Nice Dutch Imperial (EMI) compilation with Focus, Cats, etc. v/a - Sunab 196 LP (Outlet Musik 01-87-09, Germany 1987) EX/EX €39 Rare and ultra obscure German rock/metal sampler with Czanes O.B. Fashion - Fabrique LP (Arista 204 561, Canada 1982) inner coh EX/EX €8 Note the disc is a German pressing. I've seen similar German/USA combinations from the early 80s on Arista before (e.g. the first Ministry) but I can't say for sure if this was intentional. Still in shrink. Thomas Leer - 4 Movements EP 12" (Cherry Red 12 CHERRY 28, UK 1981) inner EX/EX €12 Second release, follow up to "Private Plane". Furys - Moving Target/We Talk We Dance 7" (Beat Records BEAT 002, USA 1979) EX-/EX €5 Nice USA mod pop wave, sleeve slightly beat.
