The beginning of the end. SOme people wrote off The Fall with the Beggars Banquet
era (1985-90, roughly), but I wrote them off in 1990 with the release of "Extricate".
Thus began a whole decade of mediocre albums saved by the occasional gem -- a single
here, the odd LP track. This thing is a promo CD sampler for the Extricate album,
with 4 or 5 tracks.
Flamin Groovies - Grease EP cd3 (Skydog 62234, France 1974/198?) m/m €15
The Flamin' Groovies were one of the 70s precursors to punk rock with their
tough garage rock sound best exemplified by "Slow Death", but also with a
Beatles-inspired powerpop sound which came to the fore on the late 70s Sire LPs.
This is the famous Grease EP from 1974 issued as a 3" CD in a gatefold card sleeve.

the original, limited run). "Vampire" is much lauded for its primitiveness
and the fragmentary nature of the songs (or ideas for songs) but I prefer
"Propellor" (my favourite LP is "Sandbox").
