Functionalism of Divorce
The functionalism of divorce is the dysfunction of marriage. It provides our society a way out of a marriage. Some find personal happiness after getting out of a hard marriage. It serves as an outlet to free us from unwanted stress. A person may also want to free himself or herself from abuse of a spouse. Divorce, whatever the reason, has a function of freeing individuals; it gives the ability to become independent. It can also serve as an easy way out to those who do not have the desire or strength to work out difficult marriages.
