the bio/background and what-have-you:
Raised by naked mole-rats? Mmm... I think not. Spent most of his childhood/adolescence in the sewers under Paris? Yep. Sounds like fun. =) Gaetan was the Baby of the Family, which shouldn't suprise anyone; he's the youngest of four boys (ahh... poor Maman Molière...). His parents were both teachers before they retired: his father, Christophe, taught courses at the Sorbonne, and his mum, Gabrielle (i like that name) was a music teacher.
I'll bet you anything he looks just like his dad. See, I've got this mental picture of his parents... yes I'm obsessed (at least I'll admit it); I've got this picture of Christophe as this little short skinny guy with glasses... for some reason... and I betcha his mom was real purty in her day. I've even speculated as to what his siblings look like. But moving on...
Gaetan is eccentric, to the point where it scares some people (Milo). He's obsessed with his work, although considering the ease, enjoyment, and genius he has for his profession, one could hardly call it work. He's vibrant and enthusiastic and outgoing, and really strikes me as the life of the party, with an energy level rivaled only by that of a toddler on a sugar-cookie high. He's definitely got a sense of humor, and a mischeivous side, evidenced by his noticeable fondness for practical jokes.
But the "little digging animal called Mole" is not without a soul. He may be a touch inept socially (easy for me personally to forgive since i am too), but he knows when to behave. Certain moments (if you pay an absurd amount of attention, as i do) in the film show him to be a warm and caring individual, if you'll pardon the generic phrase.
He seems to enjoy a friendship with Vinny, and a more lukewarm camaraderie with the others. He was probably on Cookie's good side, though.
In conclusion: isn't he the cutest little Parisian you ever did see?
i thought so. let's all choose to disregard the stereotypicality of his tendencies toward lasciviousness and poor hygiene. with a little leap of the imagination, he could be a rich, interesting, well-developed character!
yeah, that's his signature. kinda looks like mine, heh. three cheers for illegible handwriting!
