The Wait Is Over!

LEECH SAVES THE WORLD!

Saturday, Ocober the 25th, 2003:

HOLY CRAP! DID YOU SEE THAT??? Leech totally saved the world! okay, not quite hands-on, but still...

Go Leech!

also,

Go Rogue!

and hey, is it me, or did the Brotherhood Boys redeem themselves??? aw yeah. After contemplating Wanda's having left to save the world, they thought about it, and decied to "borrow a jet, get lost on the way, and still manage to get there."

Borrow a jet indeed. ::eyebrow::

and hey, anybody up for a chorus of "Lance and Kitty sitting in a tree"? K-I-S-S-I-N-G...

also, as much as i hate to admit it, that psi-fight between Horesman Xavier and Jean was pretty freakin' cool. Evo is really starting to echo the comics, and the old Fox show we grew up on. and while they were fighting, right when Jean finally bested him, i thought it may just have been my imagination, but i swear i heard a bird's cry, and saw a bird shape around Jean. immediately, i thought "Phoenix."

then, when Jean hugged the Professor, he had a sad look on his face.

and then, it happened.

Professor X, while he was "seeing the future", gave us a glimpse of Jean becoming the Dark Phoenix.

idunno about you people, but i'm looking forward to seeing the Phoenix Saga. ^.^

Man it was awesome to "see the future". i screamed out loud when i saw the Future Brotherhood in all it's glory.

Can't say i liked Fred's fumanchu. i mean, it's cool; but it doesn't really scream out "Fred J. Dukes" to me.

i ed Toad! Didja see 'im? Ow! XD

oh, and Pyro. Pyro will be in the BH! SheeeeeHIT yeah! this just gets better and better. =) how will they top it in next weeks episode??

i can't wait to find out.

The Horsemen of Apocalypse

Saturday, October 18th, 2003:

Hey all. S'been a while. I missed an episode b/c i was upstate visiting friends; i'm sure that's forgiveable. :) i caught today's and last week's episodes, and if anyone wants to send me a guest review/rant of the one i missed, it will be featured here. in the unlikely event i get more than one, i'll decide which is best.

okay, down to business. chronological order, so last week's first.

centers around none other than Miss Kitty Pryde. she wasn't so bad in this one. dammit, she was a pretty cool character in the comics, why'd they go and mess her up for the show??? okay but enough of my ranting.

Logan's Training Session is some sort of chariot race... O.o

and there's some stupid little third-ring subplot involving Iceman and Cannonball making racing bets w/ Wolverine. they're kinda cute, but kinda stupid too, as i've mentioned before.

this episode was overall VERY cool. it wasn't in continuity w/ the Apocalypse saga... but it was still very dramatically heavy. i LOVED how you think everything's really happening... then Kitty 'wakes up'. it's great b/c you (as you're watching) are just as confused as she is about what's going on.

and, *ping ping* here's another NEW MUTANT to add to the tally! w00t! go Moonstar! (loved her character design.)

it was really, really freaky by the end... she was gone for two years??? i am not even going to bother imagining what got her down into that underground cavern glowing like a foxfire mushroom. i don't know very much about Moonstar, but what little i knew already could be guessed by anyone who's seen the episode. she can bring people's fears to life in illusions. that is a very interesting and distinctive twist on the typical telepath/illusionist character mold.

now for today's ep.

IT WAS TOO SHORT! i mean really, didn't it end just when it got interesting??? what's up with that??! can't they throw us a bone once in a while? would it be too much to ask to have a whole, complete story line that isn't chopped into a bazillion peices and spread out over a long period of time??? ::sigh::

honestly. just when it got cool.

i don't know whether i liked that bit about Jean and the Professor. i mean, i love the Prof but i don't have any warm fuzzies for Jean. they are focusing on her and Scooter-Pie way too much if you ask me. ::barf::

i loved, however, the little part in the jet w/ Ororo and the Prof. "I will not leave without you Charles, so do not ask me to." that is EXACTLY what Storm would say. that was the first REAL Storm Moment in a while.

okay... so now the Prof, Magsie, and Storm are Horsemen of Apocalypse. Nick Fury is explaining the last hopes for the world, still chewing away on his toothpick (not a cig you notice). all the different teams are banding together. Rogue is becoming more "Rogueish". this is really, really getting good.

and hey, nothing is cooler than watching the sentinels demolish the Sphinx. ... ~.~;;

also, we are seeing more and more of Beast, but i want to know where the Wise-Cracking, witty, endlessly Shakespeare-quoting Hank McCoy of the eighties books went.

there was a Brotherhood moment in this episode, but i'm getting ticked at the writers for making them all look selfish and stupid. when Kitty was sent to ask for the Brotherhood's help, Avalanche was just like "hey Beavis, the world's in danger. heheh. cool." but Scarlet Witch was mature and noble enough to follow Kitty out the door. ::sigh:: boys are so stupid.

but i think that they would have done something. Avalanche has been noble a few times in the past. Todd is not stupid enough not to care if the world is flushed down the toilet by a resurrected blue glowing Egyptian. Fred would be riled.

where was Pietro by the way? hmm. whatever.

but anyway...

dramadramadramacliffhanger. *poof* the end.

can't wait 'til next week.

The Return of Spyke!

Sunday, September 28th, 2003:

Holy Crap.

lemme tell ya ppl, i didn't think i'd be thrilled w/ the return of Spyke... i was so wrong. it was awesome.

the unthinkable has happened.

Spyke is cool.

the new look? cool. the new attitude? cool. the walk? the talk? the style? all cool.

he's not a whiney, annoying, immature kid with a smart mouth. he's changed. (THERE IS A GOD.) now, his smart mouth/bad attitude has matured into wicked cool edginess, and a different sort of rebelliousness; shit, he's even noble now. he's a freaking activist or something. he's mister "hell no, we won't go!" before he was just bullheaded; now his a rebel with a cause. go Spyke! and Evan is a good name for him too; it means 'warrior'.

his voice is done a little differently too, i like it. his character as a whole has been really tweaked, but the result is freakin' cool. whoa.

on another cool note: we got to see LUCID! remember him? well of course you do, now that you've seen him again. i thought he was really cool; i'm glad they're using him some more. mostly b/c his voice is cool. and you know, seeing the morlocks, for any reason... ::thumbs up::

ooh, and that thing w/ Leech! w00t! how many of you guessed it right away?????? welcome to Evo, Leech! he's such a cute kid. =)

ooh, this means i'll have to update the Morlock Tunnels! it's one of the older, crappier looking pages... but not for long. ::sets off to work:: see ya soon! ;)

Thursday, Septemper 25th, 2003:

::sheepishly:: hi... this is your EXTREMELY HUMBLE webmistress, very very late. college! sorry!

but anywayyy...

two kickin' episodes have gone sofar unranted on by yours truly. first, there was No Good Deed, starring... ::drumroll:: THE BROTHERHOOD! ::cymbals:: =) w00t! it's about time! it was amusing, and cute, and great, but the boyz (and Wanda) weren't exactly virtuous (except for Lance [go Lance!], and Todd a bit w/ that guy on the subway). well, okay, that was ALL PIETRO'S FAULT. because PIETRO is a DIPWAD. he is officially no longer cool. he hasn't been cool since at least season two. okay, i'll give him season three... but he has NOT been cool lately.

Todd was adorable, as usual, and i got a kick outta seein' Freddy lift heavy things. =D and OH GOD, the look on the boys' faces when they got the check... that was beautiful! i loved the bit where they tried to touch it and Lance pulled it away. heheh!

and HOO-AH! that house looked good! it didn't even look that good in the beginning. wow. the boys (and Wanda) were livin' the Hi Life for a while. Then the RepoMen came. "No! Not the Big-Screen TV!"

there was also that bit at the end, the newscast, that part about 'accusations that the brotherhood were staging the disasters are being investigated' or something like that. that doesn't mean the boys are gettin' in trouble, does it? ::worried:: Poor, Sweet, Innocent Todd! and Lance! and Fred! and Wanda! come to think of it, poor sweet innocent EVERYONE EXCEPT PIETRO.

okay, next episode.

there was also Sins of the Son, which, i have to say, was kickass squared (kA2). it was like, "hey Chuck, you gotta son! outta wedlock! BOO-yah!" ::kicks Xavier's butt::

i don't know about you guys, but if i was a student, i would have felt a bit differently about him after the news. maybe dissapointed at first, but that wouldn't last. i mean jeez, it wasn't his fault. Momma evidently felt like being a shrew.

and then at the end Xavier screws up royally (also not really his fault, but still); which is another kick in the butt. he's gotta feel crappy about that.

the downside to this episode: featured Scott and Jean. are they going to get tired of that? ever? ::sigh::

oh, and there was that cute but inconsequential lil' sideplot w/ Kurt and Kitty. wasn't even THAT funny. can't blame 'em for tryin' though, right? i liked the scant scene w/ Beast tho'. Beast needs to get more lines!

suddenly i notice how often on this page i have been at such a loss for words that i repeat 'kickass' multiple times. tell me if that gets annoying, 'kay?

if i think of anything more to say about all this, i'll say it. and i promise i won't be late w/ the ep coming up in two days! promise!

Holy Freaking Shiznit! It's Omega Freaking Red!

Saturday, September 13th:

HOLY CRAP! IT'S OMEGA RED! HOLYHOLYHOLYHOLYHOLY CRAP!

i mean, wow! didja see it???!!! huh???!! didjadidjadidja????!!! that was the kickinest ep of ANYTHING i've seen in a while! whoa!

and wow, X23 is just like her "father". she's got attitude. oh yeah, and are they gonna give her a name? she's a person just like Logan is. i mean, i know they're making a point, like when they call Wolvie "Weapon X", it's dehumanizing, whatever: but isn't she being humanized now? ah well, i'm not one of the writers, it's not my call.

but jeez, you should have seen me. i actually screamed out "Holy Shit! It's Omega Red!" and some more profanity. :) heheh.

and that junk w/ Scott and Jean teaching class... ::sigh:: i suppose it was going to happen sooner or later. watch out for head inflation. ::rolls eyes:: i mean did you see Jean? "you need to take this seriously!" wow Jean, that's gonna get their attention. on a related note though, i, personally, reveled in Scooter and Jeannie's initial humiliation. ::evil snicker:: i like the thing when Scott was handing out the papers.

Jubie: ::explodes paper handed to her by Scott:: Oops! Sorry! Can I have another one ?

oh yeah, that was quality. and when he just gives up and tosses the stack of papers? priceless. way to lose your cool, Scottie. ;)

Here Lies Mystique: Rest in Peices??!!

Sunday, August 31st, eleven in the morning: Once again, this is your webmistress, feeling quite ashamed that she missed an episode. YES! it's possible. it was that episode w/ the volcano. was it okay? i suppose they'll air it again. but i DID see both parts of Dark Horizon, and Impact; And once again: they were nothing short of KI(K@$$. okay, i need to re-watch my tapes of DH 1+2 once they're back from a loan to a buddy of mine, but... wow! there is alot of interesting stuff up around the bend.

okay, and was anyone else shocked when Rogue, uhm, broke Mystique? were Rogue's feelings of betrayal &ct so strong that she could, well, kill her? that girl already has alot of demons. lately she's been acting so... gutted, haunted, even jaded. i wonder what will become of this.

Kurt, though, is starting to act more like the monk and less like the circus performer. i don't blame him for not being in the mood to clown around. in Impact, he's been all about mercy, forgiveness, blahblahblah. he cried. i'm sure his crying isn't over though, because as unlikely as it may seem that Mystique is actually dead, i don't see any way she's gonna get around being in fragments at the bottom of a cliff, near the ocean if i'm not mistaken.

this begs an interesting question: how will Kurt act toward Rogue now that she's "killed" their mother? i'm also interested in what Wolverine's reaction to this will be. earlier in the episode, he was saying how things weren't Rogue's fault. that's rather ironic.

and what will the Brotherhood say??? their last hours with Mystique were spent tossing around all that was left of her. i know that that was supposed to be comic releif, and it was funny, but i think they were acting that way mostly b/c they were in denial. how unreal would it be if someone came to your door and said, "here. this stone statue that looks just like your boss/guardian in fact really is your boss/guardian, and we can't fix her so here you go." the Brotherhood boys are not that insensitive, we know that. they'll most likely feel very guilty- and if they're not, i'll be very dissapointed in the writers. ::death-glare::

on a different subject, we saw alot more of Colossus, which is very very cool. especially since we have even more insight as to just why he's sticking by Mags. if you're familiar with the comics, you'll probably have suspected it (as i did) back in Mainstream, when he and Wolvie were on bikes and tearing up a tractor. "Join the X-men!" "I... cannot." anyone who knows anything about good old Petey would have known right there and then that his family (Illyana) had been threatened. with the mention of "family" in Impact, we know for sure. perhaps this means we'll be seeing Illyana soon? oh, and by the way, it was much coolness when Piotr started smacking Maggie around. =)

Apocalypse!

Saturday, August 9th, 1400 hours: This is your webmistress, the Cheshire Kat, reporting. I'm sure all of you saw both today's episode, Part One of Dark Horizon, and X23 which aired last Saturday. As I was hoping, and praying, Evo's return to the WB is nothing short of KI(K@$$. The quality of the animation, the attention to detail, the acting, the script... all of it is rocking my world. I hope it's rocking yours! The action just keeps on coming. No time for fluff! It's just BAM! Rogue! BAM! Brotherhood! BAM! Magneto!BAM!! Apocalypse!!!!!!! woooooooooo!!!
