REASONS FOR CHOOSING ON-LINE COUNSELING
Maybe you have never received counseling before, and it is less frightening or intimidating than going to a counselor at a clinic. |
Some people are more comfortable with online
counseling than face-to-face therapy. |
It may be difficult for you to find the time to seek counseling at a
clinic, whereas with online counseling, you have no need to leave home, or to take time off from work. |
ADVANTAGES TO ON-LINE COUNSELING
You can e-mail me as many times as you wish, and I will give you a reply as soon as possible, whereas with office visits for counseling, you have to wait for the next session or appointment with your therapist. |
You may be more comfortable receiving therapy this way, than face- to-face counseling. |
Writing down your concerns really helps to bring things into focus or perspective. |
This gives you an excellent opportunity to think over what your therapist has said to you by reading and re-reading your
e-mails. |
Best of all, on-line counseling with me is
FREE. |
DISADVANTAGES TO ON-LINE COUNSELING
Because on-line counseling is done via e-mail, without any face-to- face contact, it is sometimes difficult to understand what the other person is thinking or feeling. |
With e-mail, sometimes things may not be to clear, so you will have to wait for a reply to your e-mail if clarification is needed. |
Sometimes e-mails take a long time to download from your server, or sometimes they do not get through. |
Your e-mail may not always be secure, so that others may be able to read your e-mail, but there are steps that you can take to prevent this. |
